Well I have a couple of questions. How do you overcome opening so many bank accounts ? Because when you create your first listing, it requires you to add a bank account. Once you sell your first item, eBay will ask you to verify your bank account and your identity. If you dont pass your identity verification and get suspended you cant use the same bank account again. I think my biggest obstacle was always not having enough bank accounts.

In US,I dont believe there is any restriction of opening bank account,as long as your have SSN and fund initial deposit ?
I dont think it will affect your credit score, applying for too many credit cards could ,but not bank account.
So it comes to how much money do you have to meet minimum balance ,if you open 100 bank accounts, you would need at least $10,000 .
Unless you keep closing those which are linked to suspended Ebay account ?

I closed all my accounts linked to suspended AMZ or ebay. Its free to open new ones as needed, so I figure why even waste the time/money.

There is no credit hit to having a bank account, correct.

Agent has it right for the USA to me it seems.

To be clear, I have created new accounts lately and when I was added my Canadian banks to MP from the beginning, it was different - MP was accepting my bank accounts in stealth name and attaching them without ID request.

Not if you run out of bank accounts, you close onces that have failed and get new one - also open up business accounts with a sole proprietorship registration - but costs can add up

That's interesting. So do you suggest to attaching bank account during account registration to avoid getting photo ID request together with bank after first sale?

I think maybe there is misunderstanding about having to open bank accounts. It's not that opening bank accounts has a limit. Technically you can have as many bank accounts as want , however if you keep opening and closing accounts , your bank will find it suspicious and will end all business with you. Not to mention if you open say 10 or 20 accounts at once they will also find it suspicious and will probably end all business with you unless they get an explanation as to why does someone need so many accounts. Remember bank are private entities, they dont owe you anything and if they assume that you are committing some sort of fraud they will close your accounts.

I guess my question to you would be , how long do you wait before you list your first item ? a week? a month ? 2 month? The reason I am asking is because when I waited for less than a month , especially a week and listed an item, I always got suspended. Also noticed that usually if account is new I wont get promoted listings, some never got it even after 500 sales.

The basics:

*Create a fresh user on your PC (for example account-one)

*Use a browser that is better at blocking trackers and ways to identify your system such as Firefox or Brave.

*Get a fresh REAL phone number that is going to be local to the location of your new account, personally i use Public Mobile because if the account goes down then you can change to a fresh phone number for free through their app (great for saving some dollar!)

*Hit google maps or relators websites for rental addresses (rental addresses see a lot of people in and out) which may aid in account creation (works for me...)

*Get a fresh chequing account (PCFinancial & Tangerine) work good for me, allowing multiple accounts under one log in for FREE.

*Get Mobile Data if your phone does not have it already, run your accounts on it! by switching in and out of airplane mode it will give you a slightly different IP every time (i have done it this way for years!) and is way cheaper.

Account creation:

*Log in to your new user on your PC
*Hot spot your phone to your PC to for a unique IP address
*Open Firefox or Brave and go to ebay.ca
*Just browse, building some regular cookies
*Create account
USE YOUR REAL NAME BUT SWITCH IT UP IF RUNNING MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS for example John Peter roberts, John P roberts, J Peter roberts. USE YOUR REAL DOB.
*Message a couple of sellers
*Add things to your watch list
*Bid if possible but don't win
-Do all this over a week or so-

Log back in after doing the above, head in to your account/personal info.
*Verify your email and phone number
*When listing your first item and going through the seller on boarding process use your real DOB AND NAME. Ignore SIN.
*list your first item (something used is best) Take a real photo of it, could be anything such as a SSD or something
*Keep the listing as simple as you can
*Let it run through the normal waiting period

The Tricky stuff:
Once you start actually selling you will get hit with ID verification sooner or later and Bank account verification for payouts
Use if possible an ID that does not contain your address so it is not easily linked(this has been my experience)
health card, passport etc.

When you verify your bank, use the small deposit method. DO NOT log in through your bank, it won't matter if your address does not match nor really your name but were making an account in a variation of your name to pass ID checks

IN CANADA SIN IS NOT MANDATORY. EBAY ARE NOT THE FEDS AND CAN NOT DEMAND IT!

I'll be back.....

That's not true either. You can only open SIGNLE checking account with PC Financial and 2 with Tangerine.

Not true? you can see my banks can you? Admittedly i wasn't very clear but you can have multiple accounts by mixing it up with chequing and savings accounts. I have one of each in PC and 2 of each in tangerine

Also a FYI. EQ Bank allows 7 CHEQUING accounts under one roof!

3-5 days is good enough for me, list 1 item only and only sell 1 item every couple of days for the first few weeks. seems to work

Sorry I was referring to CHEQUING accounts ONLY! You can ONLY have 1 CHEQUING with PC Financial and only 2 CHEQUING accounts with Tangerine! I wasn't sure if savings accounts would work with ebay. When you need to verify your eBay business account , you are only given 2 options either person CHEQUING account or business CHEQUING account, there is no option for SAVINGS account.

Thank you this seems to be a good advice. I will try your strategy since it didnt work for me in the past. If this does work it will save me a bunch of time because usually I wait for 2 month in order to get promoted listings from day one.

Try to avoid getting hit with the "we need to see proof you own these products blah blah"

Even if they are fully legit, ebay usually don't care and will MC999 you... so sell slow

Using my slow method I've never received MC999. This is why I am afraid to try and list after a week but I will still give this a go for the last time.

Yeah this doesn't sound promising to me. I guess I will stick with my slow account creation. I would rather have quality account then keep getting no promoted listings and MC999. I always tell people , everyone has their own strategy however I've noticed that with eBay the ones who starts slow, usually win the race.
