Entropay vs Vanilla Visa
 

Which one is over-all better for us Canadians? (i.e easier to use, more stealth, better results etc..)

I am using it to pay eBay fee's, and lift whatever limits on Pay Pal.

They both have their advantages.

Have you used both?

If it's just for eBay/PayPal go for entropay you'll get more for your dollar.

First time using entropay, I just signed up.. What's a good amount to load on? will $20 do?

$20 is the minimum amount, in addition to 2 or $3 fees. with $20 on your main VCC you'll be good to create a good amount of VCCs (5 to 6 cards if you're planing to add each new VCC with $3, which is enough for PP+Ebay verification)

I'm verifying my entropay account, although i don't have a bank statement handy. Can i just use my both sides of drivers license and the Visa ?

You can try to join a utility bill as a replacement for the bank statement, and send them a message (or call them) to explain that you don't have a bank statement handy. Their costumer service is very helpful, so they'll probably accept it.

Entropay is the cheapest...I'd do that!

I dont understand.. how can you create 4 or 5 VCCs with 1 card number?

a vcc is a Virtual Credit Card number... many banks offer an option to make a virtual card number to replace your real debit card or credit card number to protect yourself

Ok, So the issuing card company will allow me to make multiple numbers on one account? I thought ebay verifies the cc address, it's all one account but just diff numbers wouldnt they see that?

pp and eb can't see the address on the pp vcc

they all go through address verification, which is what you may have seen as AVS

Paypal can see the address on a paypal vcc, it just passes the AVS with someone selling a PAYPAL ONLY VCC. a virtual credit card generated from your bank will have an addresses attached, and therefore will have to have the address match with what is on paypal/ebay

Ebay is more strict with the avs testing, and will not allow you to add a card without an address attached..... this is why there are certain cards that work with ebay and others that work with paypal

OK, 1 more Q... if I go with a prepaid CC, When I am setting it up, do I set it up under my real name and address and then change all the details online once I get the card in the mail. (citizen bank) Or does it even come in the mail, do I just get a number online?

If I use my own real CC and I set up an additional user (stealth name), can I then go online change MY billing address to stealth address (temporarily) can I then verify with the additional user card? Will they still detect my previous billing address ? Would I have to leave it on there for a while or do they only verify it and then never check it again?

Previous address will not be detected. I have never bothered changing it back so that I won't comment on 100%.

When you register it online, use stealth details.

It depends on the bank....... typically you pick these up in person. Some companies will mail them to you in bulk. But you might get an actual virtual card also... of course you'll know before you purchase

But aren't the details we give in the VCC our real details because they're the ones we've given to the bank?

Is entropay the only solution where the cards aren't posted to us in the mail and are generated online? Does it allow you to generate Canadian AVS VCC even though you're living in the UK?

As for vanilla visas, is a site like vanillavisa.com reliable and useful?

I am still having trouble understanding verification of physical gift cards in Canada for both Paypal and Ebay. The one I have can be registered online, but only with a postal code. Does that still work or do paypal and ebay now need the name and or whole address, (matching the other details of course.)

The postal code is KEY. Address can literally be whatever EXCEPT that the house number used on the cc registration page should be the same one used on the pp registration info.

The other info does not really have to match.

What happens with a card with no house no., ie can only add postal code when registering gift card?

The cards with no house numbers are the vanilla brand of prepaid mastercard, visa, and american express available in many places like gas stations etc. A few years ago when you registered them online, you could fill in name and full address and they worked great for paypal and ebay. Now, you can only add your postal code in the on line registration section, they took out the full address option. So, any idea if a card with only the correct postal code will pass verification with paypal, ebay or both?

Ah the Vanilla brand - yes those work well with no house numbers. Only the postal code is fine. It's been done $

For me the best are Vanilla mastercard. they work everytime with no issue and the only registration needed is a postal code. Also the vanilla mc passes everything on pp and eb.
