Magic Jack - Newly Released Canadian Numbers

As most of you know, magic jack is extremely popular in the USA due to free calling within North America. Not only does magic jack come at an affordable price, but it comes with one year worth of free subscription when it is purchased and activated.

Magic Jack now has CANADIAN numbers. After waiting a long time, they have introduced Canadian area codes in order to enter into the booming voip industry.

Here are the area codes available in Canada:

They have covered most of the prominent areas in Canada already.

Hmmm, I've never used MagicJack, do you know if it's possible for USA citizens to get a Canada number using Magic Jack?

Can anyone please tell me how magic jack works?

Lets say I have 10 different Paypal/eBay accounts and I need obviously a separate number for each one of them. So does it mean I have to buy 10 separate magic jacks or all I need it one to be plugged in my say laptop and simple purchase additional numbers. Can anyone who used it before explain to me how can I implement this?

Thank you.

I was also thinking of asking this question but I guess the first step would be to look at the Magic Jack website and see how it works. From what I understand, you buy something that connects your phone line to computer and make calls from your computer. More than that, I need to get my reading up.

I haven't personally tried Majic jack, but I it will most likely work with amazon or ebay as it acts like a regular land line. I have my own voip ata box, which connects directly to the router instead of using the computer.

I have a few relatives that use Magic Jack as there regular land line, and they love it. The only problem is the fact that you have to leave your computer on 24/7. At $40 for one year service, you can't go wrong with the magic jack. I would say, it's more oriented for people looking to replace there regular overpriced land line.

I used to pay around $30 - $40 to bell for phone services. As soon as I switched to voip, my bill has been reduced to less than $10 a month. Again I have NOT used Magic Jack, but I am 99% sure it will work with Amazon, Ebay, and Paypal.

Yes, there are other voip companies available...........which offer cheaper alternatives on a month to month basis.

Thank you so much Burning! Wow this lady or whomever I was chatting with over magic jack official website must be dumb or something. She told that I could only use one number per magic jack. Meaning that use I could get more numbers but I will have to buy another magic jack for each number and that I couldn't use for example 5 numbers simultaneously.

Lady was too impatient. Gracious what has happened to people in this world? No, I am really serious! Makes me so mad that almost everywhere I look people have no respect, no dignity, no care nor love for anyone.I think they don't even care about themselves. It's rare that I meet good people. In fact I find this community pretty friendly and understanding. So thank you Burning. :yar:

if you're going to have multiple eb/pp accounts, magic jack is the way to go. I have 2 magic jacks....2 phone numbers...each one hooked up to its own computer. each computer is a dedicated computer for its specific eb/pp account. works just great.
