Canadian Paypal Weird Account Verification Issue
 

I just created a new stealth account and added my new Visa credit card to the account to verify it. But my account is not verified and it still is asking to add a bank account to get verified and to lift limits. I'm confused, is this normal?

To get VERIFED status on paypal you add a bank, paypal will send the two small deposits (eg. 0.17 & 0.03) Once these hit the bank you check your statment, and input these in paypal boooom VERIFIED

Then to get CONFIRMED you need to add VCC and LINK AND CONFIRM card. This will send the 4-DIGIT EXPUSE code which will confirm your address etc.

VERIFIED & CONFIRMED is what you are aiming for,

As GB said, basically could not have said it myself. You need the bank account to be verified.

Well the problem is when i added my cc it just said added successfully and didn't charge anything to my card or anything. In such a situation how can i confirm my address or card? I purchased something right after adding the card and the payment did go through so i know that my cc is working well with my paypal account. But i don't see anywhere saying confirmed.

I went to "Add/Edit a CC" menu and saw a Complete Verification link infront of my CC. But when I click on it it is asking me to add a Bank Account instead of the expuze code as you mentioned earlier. Never had this problem before so would like you guys to shed some light

The answer has already been given to you:

1) add a bank account to verify the account

2) then link and confirm the credit card.

Thanks for the replies I will add my bank account and see if i can confirm my CC afterwards. So much has changed in the past few years that it's scary.

I have not registered a new account in a long time. Do the visa and mastercard gift cards still work ie vanilla brand? When you register them online now, it just asks for a postal code, not your whole address. Is this enough to pass the verification here in Canada. (I know I need to register a bank account first.) I care more about the paypal account than ebay although I am guessing the same rules apply to both?
