Was wondering if it is possible to get this limit removed if you directly call them ?

Anything is possible but be aware, that you MAY get hit with ID verification. Read around the forums more

For some reason some Canadians get very lucky and are able to get higher limits from the get go.

Be careful calling unless you have backups in place.
