Paypal Canada asking for SIN

I opened a pp Canada account yesterday and noticed that paypal is asking for your SIN. This is currently optional but it is the first time I have seen this.

Yes, they started it like 3 weeks ago, but they're not requiring it.
Even when they limit your account asking for more information, they're not asking for that particular one.

Dont provide it - hmm I have to make a new PP.CA account to see what this option is - must be a very recent addition.

Same to me, I did not provide since it is stealth but what happen after is I attempt to add bank information for verification it said I am not allow to....... Don't know why....

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/paypal-...-vba-time.html - active discussion on this.

I lightly touched on the SIN issue in post #35 - optional, not mandatory. Dont give it - I will also add that giving them your SIN can give some access to credit checks to match in future...

Problem is the gullible new registrees to PP may fall victim to this...just terrible - there needs to be a pop-up disclaimer...thieves of info!
