| GoteBay | 06-20-2013 10:04 AM | Canada Post - Shipping in and from Canada I just find that Canada Post pricing for shipping is not comparable to USPS, how do you guys do this? |
Dmshark25 | 06-20-2013 11:42 AM | What to you mean, how does the pricing compare?? |
If you live close to the border and ship alot of packages, there's services in major urban areas that will bring your packages to be shipped in the US. Of course this is only worth it if you do alot of volume.
Otherwise, eat a bit of the shipping cost to make it competitive. Thankfully in my case, Canada Post is "worth it" considering the value of the items I'm shipping. |

GoteBay | 06-20-2013 02:00 PM | @Dmshark25, any item larger than 1/4 in ships by dimensions and weight. Small items will ship normally but anything that does not slide through that magic Go-NO-Go board is a pain. If you want to add tracking, then you will easily pay above $10. Shipping with bubble envelopes is like a punishment; to say the least, it is very inconvenient. |
Dmshark25 | 06-20-2013 03:34 PM | I use USPS with the items I have I use the small flat rate priority box and the flat rate padded envelope which are provided free by USPS, and the small box is flat rate of $5.15 if postage purchased on ebay and the padded envelope is flat rate of $5.70 if purchased on ebay and tracking is included. All packages arrive within 2-3 days, so I always go priority it's worth it, u get all boxes envelopes free and it gets to the customer quickly |

Dmshark25 | 06-22-2013 07:19 AM | Yep used to do international but 2 months after making sales to other countries realized I was just a big fish for scammers as 30 out of 70 opened cases saying never delivered
I make same sales in the US and don't need to ship out of the country , just what scammers look for , no tracking |

evolx | 06-24-2013 01:40 PM | ChitChats Express is great for US shipping from the GTA but their domestic option is a horrible flat rate of over $10 for a 1kg package to anywhere in Canada. More of a punishment than a deal since I'm paying just over $6 for the same regional GTA package on a commercial account with Canada Post. Chit Chat is only good for domestic if all your packages go to Nunavut at which point they will probably just refuse you!
I find it almost impossible to save on shipping in Canada. Only way is to sign up for a volume parcel account with Canada Post or negotiate a good volume agreement with a courier. |
Never heard of this Chitchats Express but definitely looking into now that stani posted it up - quite a bit of potential |

GreenBean | 06-30-2013 09:06 AM | And that is surely true
Far too expensive
. Ugh :FF: |
Dont have any alternatives - its a pity...besides those fedex, purolator, ups services - only cheaper if you have a corporate high-volume account |
GreenBean | 06-30-2013 06:56 PM | Or are near the USA border
:spy: |
evolx | 07-02-2013 02:11 PM | someone start a consortium of small online retailers to combine volumes with Canada Post... only 100,000 parcels annually and we can get amazon's rates lol |
GoteBay | 07-02-2013 06:44 PM | Courier services will only work very well in Southern Ontario because of the concentration of the cities. Elsewhere, you have to pay to get your items from point A to B. Not ideal for eBay competition, that is why drop shipping comes into play and has increased tremendously. |
