Linking real bank account to Canadian Stealth PayPal Account
 

Hello,

I have read through the forum that it's possible to link a real bank account with a stealth PayPal account since PayPal cannot see the name of the bank account holder therefore the names between the bank and stealth PayPal account holder do not need to match.

My questions is, is it the same concept regarding a Canadian account? because I tried adding my real bank account and I got a message saying cannot add bank account, so I am not sure if it's possible in Canada, perhaps something wrong with my account, anyone with a Canadian account was successful in doing that?

A bank account must be in real ID, regardless of what country.

At times, users do have problems adding a bank account.

What bank are you using and what type of account?

Had that bank ever been used with paypal before?

Hey thank you for your response,

The bank account that I am trying to add is my real bank account, however the PayPal account is not considered a stealth account, it's my friend's account with his real info on it,

I have tried adding a National Bank saving account, a Tangerine both checking and saving, none worked, I think it's something with the account because they have asked proof of ID during that time.

My question is, if I opened a stealth account, can I add my bank account to it, names do not need to match? I have read that in the US it works with no issues, I just wanted to make sure in Canada it works as well.

Who asked for ID?

paypal or the bank?

Friend's account with his real info....and you're putting your bank info on it...don't do that. Learn stealth and build new accounts.

I have added National Bank savings in the past - is your account direct deposit enabled? I would check...are you entering the right bank number and transit number?

Most Canadian banks work really well for stealth. Tangerine (formerly ING) might have an issue because I remember an issue way back with name mismatching deposits....

PayPal not the bank Account, it looks like Canadian accounts have to go through strict procedures more than US accounts,

I sent them a driver's license and they rejected it saying they need an attestation, oath or whatever that proves the document is real.

How is it possible to get away with a stealth account when they are asking for stuff like that..

Thank you for your answer, that's what I was looking for

I have a checking account with National Bank that I am using on my real account, the saving account did not work on my friend's account,

I think the issue was with the account, I am going to make a stealth account and try adding my real bank account like you suggested,
