Can I buy a USA stealth acct and be located in canada
 

Hi,
I am new here. I am located in canada...I changed my IP but its still a Canadian one, do I need a US IP to start selling once I get the account? Or can I just get the account, and change where I am from from USA to canada since some people do actually move. Any help would be appreciated.

You can buy a US Ebay/PayPal but changing any information right away will cause red flags. If you do plan to do any changes you should get some selling, feedback, or some history on the account before changing info.

A VPN would give you a USA IP.

OR you could stick to creating Canada eb/pp account and then LISTING on eb.com...but would still be international.

For pure US account creation, you need US IP

This can be done, but you need a good VPN or VPS.

Good question. I too am in Canada. Based on my research, my IP address needs to show within 100 km of my account address, and my account address needs to show a valid Canadian bank account with my Canadian address. If so, eBay sees I am physically located in Canada.

So will I have to open an ebay.ca account before I login to ebay.com?

i'm not sure. good question . I'm sure someone will chime in soon.
i think you are about accurate .. though i am west coast usa and can use almost any ips on west coast.. so that is a greater range than 100 km (62ish miles)
id say 400 km and you ok np .. in usa , but in CA not sure if that is factored in correctly.

i wonder if you could say ya in NY ? hmmmm i'm a newbie to CA accounts but very intrigued.

but i hear you guys have more rules there ?

You IP needs to be in the same country. Not any specific distance.

I had been doing that before until I realized how problematic US accounts could be, so I started making my Canadian accounts. But you can use VPN from either of those countries as you can always claim that you moved to either place

Can I ask why you'd prefer a US account over a CA account? Since they can both sell in the US anyways
