Shipping to USA by Ups
 

It was my fist time I ever shipped by UPS. I thought shipping would only cost like $15. I went to the store and when everything was done the total can to $28.78. The item weighed only 1.05 pounds. How much does shipping cost you and is paypal hipping cheaper.

International shipping is expensive through UPS... EMS is less, but takes longer. In the U.S. USPS is lower than UPS for items that are less than 2 lbs.

It was standard mail to US. Next time I am shipping by canada post.

UPS and Fed-Ex are always more expensive. Better to get a quote if you can then work out the best choice.

Yes, true. I never knew shipping by UPS was that expensive. Is it any cheaper if I use paypal.

If you are using PayPal, their shipping through UPS does seem to be noticeably cheaper. When I have gone to the UPS store and paid them to ship, it seemed to be much much more.

There is a shipping calculator that you can enable for paypal. That might be an idea to check the costs

Use Canada Post Xpress Post to the US, much cheaper and get's there in around a week(ish).

I was thinking about that. UPS is over priced.

Fed ex is not bad. You need to set up an account, though, since it is dramatically cheaper than their posted rates. Also, they insure for breakage and loss, Canada Post only insures for loss. Also, they are much faster than Canada Post and with better tracking as well as signatures required which protects you with Paypal.

I should never us UPS. Do fedex or Canadapost(with signature). Both are good for paypal, and setting up a account with Fedex takes 5-10 min. I have 7 accounts and so far work great, i only us this for shipping to the usa. For Canada i just use Canada post. pm me if you need help with a fedex account.

I went the other day to UPS store to ship a small item to Belarus..was in one of those padded yellow envelopes. She quoted me, believe it or not...$170. I almost fainted.. the item sold for like $40. So than I went to USPS and paid only $7 for the same thing.... Believe it or not!:pop2:

$170!! Geez, that is crazy. Are you sure she didn't say $17? Lol:lol:

Oh, no! I asked her three times... It had to do something with Belarus! I never shipped there so I had no clue....But maybe she was lazy and didn't want to do some work, or incompetent..or who knows?! I swear, she said $170 and would be there in 5-10 days. Of course I left!

I was thinking that when I get to Post Office and if they tell me anything over $15, I'd just go home and refund her the money and not ship at all to Belarus! So, watch out when you have buyer from there!!!:shocked:

That is one expensive mailing charge! :lol: UPS must have to make a plane go there just for that package, but that still is way to much! What if someone actually payed that.

Not me....but than again it was because of Belarus. If I had time, I'd do some research on it to see why really, but it's not very likely I'd get another buyer from Belarus. But again, why such astronomic difference between UPS and USPS is beyond me.

Ups is very over priced.
