Giftcards.com - Don't Waist Your Time - 2017

I tried experimenting with a giftcards.com prepaid visa.

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything about what I experienced with it.

According to their facts page the cards have full AVS. You are suppose to be able to register the full address on their site like you register the zip code on a vanilla visa.

When you order the card they register the card with the name and full address the card is shipped to. When you activate the card and go to change the registered address the submit link does't work. I had to call customer service, they said it'd take them 2 business days to unregister the address connected to the card then I could use the website to register the address I want.

A day later the registered address was removed but the site would still not let me register the new address. (tried chrome, Firefox, and internet explorer) I called customer service again and they had me give them the address I want registered to the card. They said it'd take another 2 business days for them to add the address.

I'm 99.9% sure the BIN will indicate the card's prepaid so it's probably not worth the time involved.

Are you selecting an e-giftcard to be delivered to your email address or a physical card? If you get an e-giftcard you should be able to register the address you want the AVS to show.

It was a physical card. Still unable to change the address. Support just gave me the run around. Kept telling me they set it up so I could use the website to change the address but it never worked. All that happened was they deleted the original address off AVS.

In the end, after more research on credit/debit cards and BIN numbers, full AVS will not matter. PayPal will still know the card is a none re-loadable prepaid card by the BIN and it would be held to the same scrutiny as a Vanilla prepaid.

From the research I've done on BIN's it appears the strongest card other than a real debit/credit card would be a Temporary Virtual Card Number w/ full AVS from a true bank account. 2nd best option would be a re-loadable prepaid card w/ full AVS. Obviously the addresses would have to be tweaked on both.

In the end, its only one piece of the puzzle and not all that important.

I would think a VBA would be held to less scrutiny than a non re-loadable prepaid card from creation but its only a guess. Obviously this is the reason the book suggests a VBA+VCC @ creation.

Personally I like the e-giftcard best as it let's you choose the stealth address from the start. I wouldn't completely stop using that option until you try the e-giftcard. It works like a regular visa card.
