Stay away from Gift2go Prepaid Cards
 

I followed the recommendation in ebay stealth to use gift2go cards and I used it to verify my paypal account. Well immediately after I verified my account paypal charged $1 on my card and limited my account for "unusual charges" on my credit card. Now they want me to verify my credit card, phone number, and theyre asking for my social security number. Now a perfectly good checking account along with $30 from purchasing that gift card has been wasted.

Gift2go prepaid cards hasn't prompted limitation like this in the past, most likely it was something else that did it. Try using Simon gift accounts, I've been using them for years and they never let me down.

Safeway used to offer allaccess cards which were good but a year or two ago they stopped selling them and now the only places that do are the rare one or two "cash loan" places and it's always really uncomfortable buying them in there.

Another thing to look out for is that gift2go themselves have been known to limit your gift card as well, after registering your name and address with them. It may not always happen but just like paypal accounts they do have the option and have used it plenty of times so why even risk it? I posted a previous warning about these cards a while back. Any giftcard company that does this quite shady.

i have used these gift cards a few times with no issues. Last time was 2 weeks ago.

I use Gift2Go cards with ALL my accounts and have been for a while.....
I have NEVER had a Paypal or eBay account limited or NARUed for using them.

It sounds like there is more to your story than a simple credit card.....?????

The only problem I've ran into is that if you buy it at the store, the cashiers really really really hate to sell them and if they do, they want you to pay cash.

What type of paypal account did you try to verify?

these have always worked great for me. guess it is possible something has changed recently I suppose we will need someone to confirm.

I probly used over 100 gift2go cards never did they get limted or did i have any problem with these cards. but then again as soon as i make the ebay/pp i will spend the money on there on a new g2g card :D so they may not even have time to limt it lol

I use nothing but gift2go cards exclusively, haven't had one problem.

Sadly the OP has not been back online to give more info. Too many are having success with this card. Guess we need to wait for an update :pout:

I've had a really hard time finding the right card! I'm in a rural area and there aren't a lot of choices. CVS only had VanillaVisa. Gas stations tend to have AllAccess and green dot. Man, I read the posts over and over and it's a good thing because EVERYWHERE I go there are cards on the "do not use" lists.

One post recommended the Gift2Go yellow card so I've been looking for that one. There's only 1 Walgreens around here (25 miles away). The only yellow ones they had were $100 but they had a Gift2Go happy birthday one for $25. I got the HB one and registered it last night with my new stealth info. I just tried to use it to pay for netzero and nz won't accept it, they say invalid number / can't verify the customer name.

Does anyone know if I can use this card to setup pp and eb or is it the wrong one?

That one should be fine. I used a Happy Bday Gift2Go card a few months ago and it worked the same as the yellow ones. Could be Netzero knows it isn't a real credit card they'll be able to keep charging.

Edit: Nevermind I just read Gift2Go cards might be dead, waiting for confirmation.

i just bought a gift2go visa card and it did not work

paypal keep saying the card is denied by the issure's bank

I saw a post earlier that suggests maybe you have to register the card on the gift2go website first. Go back 1 page and look around. Might fix you up. Might not.

simon gift cards are a solid way to go

I personally use Simon gift cards.

I would if they would send me the damn card already. I ordered it 2 days ago. They called me this morning for verification of my purchase. That was 8 hours ago. How long does it take for them to verify and email the damn card?

I never liked simon gift cards they always want to verfiy this verfiy that and never send you the card nor give your money back. I used the paypal plug-in to buy them and never did i get the card and the money was never returned there a useless giftcard co. you can buy them cheaper at any walamrt or walgreens and not have to worry about there fuard verification crap.

Time to process Simon cards gets slower. it used to be just a couple of hours or a day. maybe now there are too many people applying it, they increased the security level and their processing hardware hasn't been upgraded.

Simons cards are for the US, not the UK.

I just registered a new account using gift2go a few days ago and it all is well with that account thus far (knock on wood). It must have been something else that caused those problems.

I'm having trouble with a gift2go Visa. Bought one for a gift at Walgrens, when gift receioent tried to use it it had zero balance. Research said it was used at a bogus location. After filing claim, waiting forever, finally harassing them, they sent me a replacement less $5 fee, activated it and on-line balance check shows good, but I can't find a merchant that will accept it. Calling phone number on card redirects to call a foreign calling10 number that has a warning of a $.90 fee. What a rip-off. I'll never buy another gift2go card. I consider them crooks.

just find the local simon mall. I need accounts like i need .... and i am just going to wait till tomorrow. Hit up a mall and buy like 5 .

I figured out a new temporary trick for saving money on phones. I've brought the price down to $5 each for 60 days at all times. If it goes down, i can easily swap it out for a new number... Its a sekret ;p
