Starting first stealth account... CC, Debit, or PrePaid?
 

I am finally starting my first stealth account. I have read the eBook and also have been reading on this forum a lot. I have figured everything out except this one thing.

Okay, so I opened a checking account with REAL info at a local bank. Should I:
A) Get a debit card from my bank and use it for my stealth eBay and PP accounts?

B) Buy a prepaid card (probably a deluxe card so I can pre-load my stealth info) and use for stealth eBay and PP accounts?

With debit card (choice A), I feel like my account will not be 100% stealth because the debit card will be under my real information. But with the prepaid cards (choice B) I run the risk of it not working because aspkin forums seems to show that eBay and PP are cracking down on prepaid cards used for verifications. What do you guys who have more experience or knowledge about this suggest? Also, if I use a prepaid card, what card company do you recommend most? Thanks a lot!

Well when you put your real debit card on your paypal acct, it will eventually get limited. When they run the $1 or even $1.95 charge to attach the card to your account.. it will show your name. Checking account information, doesn't show your name though. At least not now.

You can attach a prepaid/gift card to your account, verify with your checking acct. To confirm location have them send the letter to your house or if that's under an account, ask around. Send it to your job, friend, relative, etc.

I disagree. I really don't think Paypal can see the name of the credit/debit card owner.

The automated part of verification won't check the name. If your card ever gets manually checked, there is a possibility of PP getting your name. Most banks don't volunteer the info but a small few ask PP to provide the name before the bank will comply with PP request. Also, if PP specifically asks for name compare, expect bank to comply - as regards the debit card.

Do you have any gift cards that you'd recommend? I understand that a lot of them aren't working on paypal anymore, so what would be the best one to use if I didn't want to use the debit card?

It is ebay that is having problems with vcc at this point. 6/14/2009
