Vanillavisa.com doesn't let you put in an address and they never answer the phone

Okay I tested the card three times on my merchant account. All 3 times were declined because the card code was not processed despite that I have it set not to decline for it. I also don't decline for AVS matches, either. So vanilla visa cards are messed up an unusable.

Also I found out about AVS....

Address Verification Status: Address Info not available for Cardholder (U)

Yeah the cards suck. Did someone here say they worked on paying ebay fees and registering ebay accounts!!!!!!!

Chris Hanson 09-10-2007 03:40 AM

Actually I just paid my Ebay fee of $1.60 for "advertising: ..lol with my vanilla visa card within a hour ago.

And also Vanilla works on my merchant account

Jonas 09-10-2007 07:15 AM

Well mine doesn't? How did you get your's to work?

imjustme 09-10-2007 07:32 AM

I just paid my eBay fees 5 minutes ago with Vanilla Visa.

Just kidding. I don't even have one :D

simogold 09-10-2007 09:01 AM

the vanilla visa gift doesn't come with an address, you can put any address and it goes through , i have been using it several months even before it was mentioned here in this forums.

cards purchased with no address attached such as vanilla visa and amex gift cards are not 100% guarenteed to work. just like the fact that at times you must offer a credit card to verify ebay and other times you dont, this could be why the vanilla works for some and not others . it has been my experiance that the best cards are the ones you have to wait for in the mail which have a name embossed on the card and an address attached.

How can this be of use when
for the most part we are getting these cards because all of our original data is tainted by ebay...i.e. what good does having a card with a name on it do when that name is banned...same as the address.

Chris Hanson 09-10-2007 01:30 PM

why do you all just a accept a paypal payment every now and then to pay ebay fees. As long as the money sits in paypal they wont freeze it.So just do a few auctions and accept Paypal and use the money to pay your ebay fees..

of course you would want to do this with a fresh paypal account

Chris Hanson 09-10-2007 01:40 PM

Jones,we just told you it works for us paying Ebay fees. Are you sure you even have any money on the card?

I just paid my Ebay fees yesterday with the vanilla card

Mrs Jones 09-11-2007 02:52 AM

Okay Mr Hanson, this doesn't have nothing to do with what was discussed nor asked here.......

Update on this Vanilla Card.. (althought I dont recommend it).. i used it on one of my new accounts to make a seller account.. and it did send me to the second step of adding a bank account, which of course, I did not complete...

then, i checked the Vanilla Visa online statement, and it did show an eBay chargef $1 pending. so I guess it does work since it accepted the pending charge (which will not go through eventually i think, as it is only a pending charge)... so i guess it does work somewhat.. if anyone has anything new to add to that, im all ears

that brings me to a question, so why did eBay ask me to add a bank account? how strange.. i thought usually just one card is enough... is it because of this Vanilla card, not being able to show address? hmm..... ....

DogFacedBoy 09-12-2007 05:50 PM

Something similar happened to me with a Simon GC...went back the next day and breezed through without the bank account info.

EB policy changes as often as the weather.

Van Player 09-18-2007 05:34 PM

update on this vanilla card... just used one to open an EB account that asked for Verification via CC when you first sign up ... used a vanilla card with the EB reg address, no problem.

a look on the vanilla card site revealed that no address is attached to the card, so any address should work, as long as in the usa... o.and btw, no, you cannot add address to vanilla card through their website, and the 1-800 number is automated, no live person available.

Chris Hanson 09-18-2007 06:31 PM

Uhhmm yeah, I think we been knew that gift cards have no address attach to it what so ever.

And don't mention Simon because sSimon cards are not gift cards but virtual gift accounts...lol

JackNoMore 09-19-2007 12:53 AM

Where were you supposed to find the V.Visa again? Didn't someone say they purchased one at Walgreens? So are they actually called "Vanilla Visa" or is it just a plain Visa gift card that is referred to as "vanilla"?

Van Player 09-19-2007 01:26 AM

i think 7-11 has them.. and yes, they are actually called vanilla visa.

Chris Hanson 09-19-2007 10:33 AM

Jack all/ most stores ell prepaid gift cards now. Unless you live in the sticks you should be able to find them everywhere

JackNoMore 09-19-2007 11:23 AM

Finding the gift cards is not an issue. Finding the good ones seems to be. I have yet to find a Vanilla Visa. I'm sort of keeping a running tab of the better options.

DogFacedBoy 09-19-2007 12:35 PM

There is a grocery store where I live and they sell gift cards for at least 50 different stores...but these look like they are definitely cards only usable at wach of those stores.

anthonychan 03-14-2008 10:35 AM

The vannilavisa site states that no address is really attached...
