Some of us are always on the hunt for new "easy" bank accounts, I recently discovered Emigrant DIrect. You can open an account for only $1.00, and there are no limits on how many accounts you can open. It is a savings account , but I have several listed with different Paypal accounts and I say they are checking accounts and it hasnt been an issue so far. They give your account numbers instantly too!

By the way for people that want to use this, in order to get your funds from the savings account, they use ACH transfers to the account you have linked to your emigrant direct account.

How much is the ACH transfer fee?

I don't think there is a fee.

I called to check on my first PP transfer today and the lasy at Emigrant informs me that they do not accept PP transfers and would be mailing me a check in 5-7 days. Just thought I would let yall know. It does work great just to verify though. And I guess is ok if you want to wait on a check.

What do you mean they dont except Paypal transfers?
Do you mean Paypal to Emigrant or Emigrant to say B of A to withdraw the $.

Some banks wont deal with ebay/paypal at all. I believe wells fargo refuses to deal with them too

I havent had this problem with them yet and hope it doesnt turn into another ING:eek:

I hope I spoke with someone that just didnt know what they were talking about. I called to inquire about a transfer from paypal to Emigrant , this is my first , other than the verifying deposits, and she says " we do not accept paypal transfers , and the money will be sent to you by check in 5-7 days as soon as we recieve the deposit"

That is why I stopped using Metabank, they even sent back the verifying deposits bc the names didnt match.

wells fargo is fine. paypal transfers funds to wells fargo without problem
