HSBC or Suntrust any one?

Hi have any u guys used suntrust or HSBC banks? Im needing a online bank like ING that allows u to open and close sub accounts. I cant seem to find out if these banks offer sub accounts or is it only 1 account. I opened a HSBC account but it said they needed more time to review my app or some crap so im unable to log in and check them out.

Yes I have used both of them and they both have sub accounts but both of mine were suspended due to opening up too many or they said something about the deposit agreement so be careful and just open a few.

doughboykilla 06-13-2010 06:14 PM

how about miss matched names are they picky on that as well?

Vicvelcro 06-13-2010 06:20 PM

If you are asking about HSBC, I can say that I have had absolutely no problems with HSBC and name matching.

doughboykilla 06-14-2010 10:27 PM

Ok good. im still waiting for HSBC to email me to finsh setting up my account

healthnut88 06-14-2010 10:36 PM

Do you know if ING requires an initial deposit for their sub-accounts? Can they be opened with $0.00.

oge 06-15-2010 11:17 AM

No you need at least a $1 from your linked checking account to make the deposit

healthnut88 06-15-2010 12:18 PM

Thanks Oge!! Just what I needed to know.

healthnut88 06-23-2010 01:15 AM

doughboykilla, how did your account with HSBC go? Did u do a checking or savings?
I just saw this in the terms of the HSBC savings account:

Account Closing.......$ 25
if your account is closed within six months of opening.

That's pretty sucky!

doughboykilla 06-27-2010 11:07 AM

dont know i signed up they said they had to review some of my info and they never got back to me so im going to try sun trust and see how they work

dennisjaneway 06-27-2010 03:12 PM

Hi,

i have a SunTrust Account (2x Checking, 4x Saving 1x Business).

Every Name works, easy to open online or in the branch.

So far so good......

But they needed 100 $ for me for every account for their first deposit.

shogun1 07-05-2010 04:09 PM

was anyone on chexsystems when they opened these? i currently am and need to be able to get around this

dennisjaneway 07-05-2010 05:55 PM

suntrust checks Chexsystem, check my other post, try USAA.com

ING (as i know from the savings accounts) works for people with Chex, but not the checking account.

from what hear. TD bank will allow you to open an IRA account for $50 deposit. Because it's a brokerage account they will not check check systems. wait a week and then they will allow you to open up a money market account which will come with a debit/ check card.

This also works with meryil lynch, with a brokerage account, but be aware of min. balance requirements on some accts. while others have very low requirements.

This is if you do not want to pay what you own in nsf. usually if you offer to pay what is owed the same back will take you back and open a new account/ Ask them to make it a condition that an authorized rep of the bank with the proper pin clearance call checksystems and remove the report to clear your name.

Bank of America allows sub accounts, easy to get and requires $25 opening deposit.

needhelpplease 07-19-2010 06:42 PM

A little insider info........if you go to a Suntrust branch and open an account (not sure about the online thing)...they will tell you that they ''require'' a $25 deposit, but will do it for $5 if you tell them that is all you have right now. Never had any problems with Suntrust.

newtools 07-25-2010 04:36 AM

some people are on chexsystems, which banks are chexsystems friendly that allow mismatch names. I am hearing that several banks will allow chexsystems people to get an IRA brokerage account. You can then open several savings and or investments accounts after this.

I wanted to double check this info.

What do you mean every name works as they require you to put in your DL etc?

Please explain.

First Edition 09-13-2010 06:53 PM

every name works for the incoming deposits

It is a serious crime to open a bank account in someone elses name

I use suntrust all the time, works great
