If Greendot still works to withdraw and works like any bank account, name shouldn't be absolutely required to match to withdraw.

Green Dot still works. You have to be careful not to use too many accounts at once or make too large of withdrawals. I find that if you keep the withdrawals below $200 they never bother you. I have used about a dozen green dot cards and never had a problem. A friend of mine who also does stealth ebay had 3 green dot cards and made one withdrawal over $300 and they called him and shut him down.

They must have something in their system that flags you if you make too large of a withdrawal and they investigate it further.

Do not and i mean do not use greendot.....

They will steal your money if you use it with paypal

well i used greendot and it worked for transactions at about 100 per transaction i havent done higher than that per transfer. why would they steal your money? tell us your experience?

Whats seems to be the verdict on the GreenDot cards then? I just got two of these, wanted to make sure it's kool to add these as a withdrawal account on PayPal - names will not match, first or last

a greendot account is a bank account

marketed to sub prime customers

my verdict is... don't waste your time with it

i hear ya. but as I just got two of these delivered I figured I would put em to use. In the future I am just going to stick to actual bank accounts as they are so easy to open and FREE (not counting initial deposit, but as they say, it's money in the bank LoL it's yours, not a fee).

I'm going to give the GD's a whirl and will update this thread as to the success, if they work great, if not I'll take it as a growing pain, note it, and move on to the next bag of tricks :p

I personally think bank accounts are the way to go.... tax purposes as well

Well this was like 3 or 4 years ago. Basically I had a green dot card attached to Paypal. Paypal tried to deduct money from my greendot card that wasnt there. Later that day i put $350 on the card. Thats when they frooze my card and told me unless Paypal send them a letter or fax stating they wont charge my card they will release it. Bunch of BS.

1st my paypal was limited also, so Paypal really didnt want to help. They told me they faxed multiple letters to greendot to stop charging card. I even had green dot and paypal manager on 3 way call with paypal telling greendot that they sent the fax bla bla and all greendot said we did not receive it..

Never to this day got my $350. Might of fact, Im going to call them up and raise Hell to get my $350 or take them to small claims court or sue them...

Read the complaints..Many had there money stolen..Becareful

my experience with green dot is spotty. withdrew $140, 2 days later withdrew $220, next day $120, then $140..last withdraw was reversed and account shut down. aunts info on it so im going to send in documents and fight the suspension.
I have been getting shut down lately with green dot. are they all the same whether its walmart or anywhere else? im thinking so just marketed with different names. are all green dot cards backed by same bank?maybe a little different from that aspect.
im going back to real bank accounts.

Green dot is it's own company, they are sold at wal mart, but not to be confused with the wal mart money card
