How hard is it to get your acct # changed on one these bank cards?

This would seem like a good idea if your card gets banned off of paypal or google, etc. The only problem is I'm not sure if any of these companies will let you arbitrarily change it. Anyone have any experiences they'd like to share?

Just say you lost your card, and they'll send you a new one with a different account number. Easy as that.

yeah say you lost it or suspect fraudulent activity. works for bank accounts too. the problem is even if you get a new credit card number, if the address and zip connected to the card are the same as a suspended one you will get linked.

So there is no way I can just call and have the account number changed instead? It's just simpler this way, not to mention I won't have to pay the replacement card fee.

you can always call and ask, they will ask you why, so make sure you have a story. But remember it doesn't matter if you get a new card number if its still registered to the same address as the other card.

I actually did have a fraud charge once and they issued me a new card and account number and closed the other one. I tried to set up a new ebay account (right before I found this forum) and was linked cause the address, zip, etc were the same as the other card.

What does my address on the card have to do with anything? I don't know of a single site that can verify banking info like your address or even your name on the account.

Ballsack, all you have to do is make sure that when you register the eBay account, the zip and state are the same-----the address can be anything you want it to be.

the AVS will only check the state, zip

You WILL NOT get linked (assuming that are no other red flags) just for having the same zip and state ---- if that was the case, there could only be one ebay account per zip code in existence!

well I was assuming you wanted to use the card to get a sellers account on ebay. From my experience AVS matches the zip and the street number after I played around with it. if your address is 123 east st, las vegas, 22223...they verify the 123 and the 22223 if its off it denies the card. So im just saying make sure the info you enter isn't the real info, but if you get a new bank account number that would be good for Paypal.
