just a quick tip on using vanilla visa's to activate paypal
 

when u use the pre determined value cards it goes thru 80% of the time. If you get the ones where you tell them how much u want to put in the card, they never go through. The ones u put money in are the ones that don't have the cc number ingraved, the ones that are preloaded have the cc number ingraved (so it sticks out). When I tried using the ones that werent ingraved (the ones where u tell them how much money u want in it) i get the error from paypal saying "This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. "

I'm not 100% sure about this situation but I tried this 3 times and wasted money getting the ones where u tell them how much u want on the card..So im just sharing info from bad experience :mad2:

no i use them all the time i did both $25 giftcards and $20-$500 gift cards i never had any problems useing them with paypal. your problem might be that u have to wait a few hours after u buy them before they will work its takes a bit for them to be activted in the system.

I am having the same problem in Canada, yesterday i bought 3 vanilla master cards at $50 each and i got the same error message from paypal and ebid :(
I have made 100's of ebay and ebid accounts this way... Now i'm screwed.

If you come up with another working type of card please w
let me know and i will do the same for you.

Are u guys registering the address to the cards? i know it worked before this way but it might had changed and it would be a good start to try that and see what happens.

These cards only allow you to go online and put in your postal code.
NO name or address!

Paypal and ebid used to accept them as is, but now it gives you an error message for both sites :(

odd in the usa u can put name, address, and postal code. But i dont even have to reg vanilla visa's if i dont want to they work eather way

you USE to be able to do all that in the usa now all u can do is put your zip code.

vanilla visa's sometimes work and sometimes don't
its a 50/50
once i used one $25 vanilla visa and i got that same error message saying its unable to verify...i was like what the heck and clicked submit again and bam it went through..so idk what it is...i opened 5 accounts last week and i had to use 7 vvcc's so 2 wasted no big deal...just keep trying and activate it with your zip code a day before using it with paypal and hope for the best...but its still 50/50

also make sure u dont use the same card that got denied to another paypal account hoping it'll work cause then those accounts are linked

try using the visa vanilla cards not the master
and also try to get simon gift cards idk if u can use them in canada?

Vanilla mastercards in Canada sucks - don't use them. RBC Visa can be used if you want physical gift card. I have tried vanilla mc in the past - always denied by paypal.

What about Vanilla Visa to confirm identity with Ebay, at registration?

ebay doesn't ask for cc to confirm identity

I used a Vanilla 50$ card for a basic buying PayPal acc and it worked. Then I used another exactly the same color 50$ vanilla visa as a second card on this plain buyer type PP acc and it rejected it.

So then I just remembered that I used my personal Ccard to be used on this PayPal account and it worked. The name on this account is different then my CCards name.

That means PP can't see your name on CCards. But address must match.

Anyone know what current cards work 100% as of right now ?

I think there may not be a 100% , just better or worse odds

The $25 and $100 vanilla visa's I used recently work to lift your pp withdrawel limits and only require a zipcode.

does simon gift cards bought from the store still work to verify paypal?
They used to work everytime for me.
Lately I used it and it failed, the name and everything matched.
Every vanilla i used works perfectly but higher fees.
Is there any card like simon with a fee less than $3.00 that can be bought at stores?

i bought 100s & 100s of vanilla visa and never had one problem useing them on paypal.

thats alot on vanilla visa, i would never get that many due to the fees,
its has the most expensive gift card fees out there

Apparently simon cards have registered AVS, so one can use those to verify address in paypal.

i use vanilla visa to buy vanilla visa i dont keep 100s on hand with money on them.

also when u buy (vanillavisa load any amount) type these charge more on there setup fee then the preload amount.

do not buy amex's new (load any amount) kinda prepaid cards these bstrds got me good i was buying the heck out of them and happen to notice on back the card one day that the setup fee was now $6.95 as to the preload amount types was only $3.95 so i started buying them kind.

The only problem with vanilla is you can't make certain puchases since it only requires a zipcode to register,
it wouldn't let me pay for some ebooks and nintendo ds pens on ebay,

the ones that require full name and address don't have that problem except they still won't let you purchase directly from dhgate

unless you pay with paypal and use the cards funds from there. Anyone know of any giftcards that work with dhgate?

vanilla visa worked for me. i purchased a $25.00 gift card this morning for 3.95 from 7 eleven, and later on in the day it worked without any issues. I was able to get the 4 digit code in a matter of seconds. gonna use the balance to buy another 1 when i get more bank accounts.
