Did they tell you why? I know they use ChexSystems, but I always thought they were fairly liberal.

Stealth applies to eBay, Amazon and PayPal only, NOT to bank accounts. It is VERY ILLEGAL to give false information to a bank. Always use your real information with the bank.

So, YES, of course it is OK to give Suntrust a copy of your driver's license.

There is a couple reasons why BOA will not approve your account. One of them is you have charge back in some other bank and they may ( may not ) approve your application if charge back is paid. If this is not a case than BOA application go trough the risk department. If your information such as address or name does not mach to the records with ss# risk department will deny your application Customer service should provide you with details.

I've never seen anyone not approved that walked into a bank. A few years back an associate of mine tried to open an account with BOA online... was denied, and walked into a branch office... opened a checking and savings with no issues. He was then able to open accounts online after that. I think bank of america mostly drives new account traffic from walk ins. I've also known people that opened accounts with BOA online, and three days later had the account shut down. They then walked into a branch office... and no issues.

The cool thing about walking into an office... even if you have issues with bad credit and checksystems, the account executive can over look this if they just want to. Checksystems doesn't prevent you from opening the account, the person on the other side of the desk does!

Speaking of suntrust... they love new business accounts! A few months ago, I walked into my local office and opened 13 accounts with the same lady. She ate it up. I told her about the name variations from various employees on the deposits... she didn't care one bit.

And as Jeff said... DO NOT GIVE FALSE INFO TO A BANK! The only reason we can get away with stealth on ebay and paypal is because they're not the government, or a bank. There is no reason to do this... work smarter, not harder.
