paypal wants bank info please help - out of U.S. account
 

I have just made up a new ebay and paypal account. all the info is ⊗⊗⊗⊗. They are asking me to verify a bank account. On the australian paypal website they ask for your name your bank name and the numbers. The only problem is the name cant be changed. So what should I do about this? Please someone help me out!! Thanks

If Paypal work the same as in the uk, the actual name on the account is not that important, for instance there can be hundreds if not 1000's of Paul Jones around the world, it's the account number and sort code that is required..

The name is not important but you can still become verified if you add a credit
card. You can get Bopo and then when paypal get the number they verify you.
It is Ebay that likes names, Paypal likes account numbers: they only work
on the number, not the name.

I can now 100% CONFIRM that paypal DOES NOT TAKE THE NAME INTO CONSIDERATION!

All you need is a real bank name, branch, sort code, and account number :)

does that include a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address and name to open paypal a/c with your real banking details

On US Bank accounts you can add a secondary name on the account. If you are worried about the name thing see if you can add a secondary on the bank account and what info that they require to do so.

ok what about the address ? can that be ⊗⊗⊗⊗ as well

Paypal wants this:
Correct Name of Bank (? maybe not USA?)
Correct Account Number
Correct Routing Number (may have different terms in different countires).
If you read paypal it says the details are never known to merchants and at this point I think paypal only know the account numbers not personal names.
My thinking is that these details are needed if ever monies need be traced?

The address on the Bank Account needs to be your real info. Paypal never sees the name or address on the account. Thats why they deposit the 2 small amounts thats how they verify its your account.

When verifying paypal account:

Bank account information - Account number, sort code, brand name and location MUST be real. Name does NOT have to be real.

The address on the account does not have to be real either.

yea i have ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and address. The thing is when entering the bank details it comes up with my ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and I cant change it. It says that the bank details have to match the name or it wont go through. It must be different to the US paypal

Thanks to everyone for replying. My problem is that when I go to enter the details my ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name comes up and I cant change it. It says that the name must match exactly to the account details or the money wont go through and i will be charged a reversal fee. Im really stuck right now!!

Sarah, not true at all. The name does NOT have to be the same, they say that just to try and get people not to use other people's account.
ALL they need is the account number and sort code (and branch name/loation). Enter your name as Paypal sucks for all they care, it won't make a difference, you will still receive your payments :)

so your telling me, i can just go apply for a new bank account at any bank where i live, apply that to a new paypal account, this mean i can just use my real name address and it will verify my paypal? but can i use this for my ebay account, and will they supsned me?

You MUST open the bank account with your real info or else you are comitting fraud.

Paypal doesn't see the name or address. Thats why you verify the 2 amounts so they know its your account.

Ive never added a bank account to eBay...you don't need to and I would not reccomend it...but it works the same as Paypal...they only see your Bank Name, Routing Number(US)/Sort Code(UK), and Account Number..

so okay, i make a new paypal account with new bank from any bank i desired (100% real informations) and then i add to paypal, with my real name and address ?

this would work 100% and paypal would verify me through the 2 small deposit even tho my name and address has been use for another paypal account?

Yes it works....when add your bank account they don't ask for the address on the account they only ask for 3 things..

1. Bank Name
2. Routing Number
3. Account Number

Enter it..wait for the deposits usually 2 days..verify and your set to go

You never even enter the address when adding the bank account...The name is Pre-Filled by Paypal, but they don't see it...I have many PP accounts with a different Name and Address than my bank details (Which are ALWAYS real info)

i previously have use my real name and address on another paypal account for ebay that got suspsned, can i make a new bank account from any bank with my real name and address again and apply once again to a new paypal (which was created under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name/address)?

Going to jump-in here because I have the same question/problem.

1. Going to open a new paypal account w/real bank info., real routing, etc.
2. Going to use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address or as stated can actually use real address.
3. Going to use real name with this new paypal account.

Paypal only need a valid routing number and account number.

hey guys remember this is not a US paypal account its a australian paypal account. in australia paypal can see the account holders name. so the only way to solve this problem is to open a US bank account with etrade. it should be a complete investment account. or if you can find a debit card that has a US bank account attach to it.

You do not need to do that with paypal australia. Make the paypal account a premier or business account and the problem is solved.

yeh but in australia paypal still needs the name of the accoutn holder to make a deposit. not having the account holders name for bank deposits or transfer is impossible

Has paypal australia told you that? Did you speak to them to be told that? This is different from what I have been told.

i asked my bank and they said yes paypal can see your name if they make a deposit to your account. man if i could verify my bank account with paypal without a name i would have done it by now and not researching the whole web and asking all these banks if i could apply for a US bank account. trust me on this in australia its impossible to deposit,withdraw or transfers funds without the bank accounts name. this is what you need to to make a transfer

*bank name
*account holders name
*bsb(branch number)
*account number

if you want proof i can send you a screenshot of my trying to make a transfer on netbank and it says "Account name" is required

OK. CBA have told you this? That figures. They do everything by the banking
book. What they have said is BS. Yes, 'they like' an account name, a BSB &
account number. BUT for their system to receive money the BSB number & account number are what matters.
So, using netbank (online?) you can do a transaction with any name you like
to real bank details.paypal will take those bank details/numbers and raise a
credit voucher for the two amounts. They look at the numbers. They try to make you think they do not. The bank says much the same. When you use
netbank, there is a statement from them they take no responsibility of name &
account number being correct. AND here's the catch.(in your favor)... since
the account numbers are correct, the deposits should allow verification.

well paypal still won't allow you to process with the deposits unless you entered the account holders name

hmm so what you are telling me is that i can put say a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name for paypal deposits? and not worry about my bank not accepting deposit coz of the different names?

Yes. I do exactly that: I only make sure that the BSB number is correct. I make sure that the account number is correct. Those two correct are what you need for paypal australia to verify you.

The deposit goes through a clearing house. Everything there, a credit
to an account or a debit from account goes on numbers. The numbers
must be correct, that is all. OK, sometimes there might be a problem
but 99.9% paypal credits the account by the numbers only.

OMFG WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME THIS I HAVE WASTED SOO MUCH TIME LIKE 3 MONTHS LOOKING FOR DEBIT CARDS WITH US BANK ACCOUNTS, CALLING BANKS TO APPLY FOR US BANK ACCOUNTS THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR TELLING ME THIS IT WILL SAVE ME SOO MUCH TIME.

If you still need a US account, that is not so hard to do. But that's for another

etrade is not quite right for ebay needs. There are better. I will check age
requirements.
