Experiencing Some Issues With Mango and Walmart
 

Yesterday In the same day I got busted 3 times between 2 accounts.


On Account A: First I added the routing number from Mango and a day and a half later I got an email from aacount_review saying,

Subject: prepaid card (KMM26971906V86361L0KM) :ppk1

As a security measure for PayPal customers, we randomly verify account
information. During a recent review of your account it was determined
that the bank account you have listed is actually a prepaid or stored
value credit card. Stored value or prepaid credit cards can only be used
through PayPal as a credit card and cannot be added to PayPal as a bank
account. Therefore the card that you added as a bank account has been
removed.

And then I got the same email from them 8 hours later after I added a greendot card..... :(


On Account B: Within 2 days after adding a Walmart Card. I got,

Subject: prepaid card (KMM26971906V86361L0KM) :ppk1......Blah Blah Blah..

Account B was limited shortly after.


So any input is gladly appreciated... and I saw just yesterday that people are good to go with mango and I thought Walmart was safe. Must be something in between the lines I guess.

Day and a half later...hmm wonder if pp is breaking down on these prepaid cards?

hope not because I made a mistake and now im on chexsystems so it wiill be the end for my bank withdrawals...


I have a couple more like 8 or so I will be reporting back :)

Please do - i have no real experience with these cards except what I see from other folx discussing the mango stuff.

There are plenty of banks that offer 2nd chance accounts and won't check your ssn against Chex, just call around and ask.

If you must use a reloadable card, use one issued by a decent sized bank. Kinda weird to have a checking account from a community bank in AR when you live 2k miles away. Avoid Metabank like the plaque. Walmart card is issued by GE Money Bank who happens to issue the PP Mastercard that they want you to sign up for everytime you log on. Besides, I think they're just an industrial bank and don't offer retail banking.
