Newbie prepaid CC for Barnes and Noble ebooks
 

I live in Australia, and I want to be able to buy ebooks from Barnes and Noble, who won't sell to anyone who doesn't have a US credit card. I thought of getting a friend to buy me a B&N gift card, but that won't work, as B&N requires a valid US credit card on your account, for DRM purposes, even if you don't use it to buy anything.

I have a friend in the US who could possibly buy me a prepaid CC, but I don't want to ask them to do anything that would require them to give their ID info - we are not THAT close. Every no-ID-needed pre-paid CC I have seen on the net has a large number of associated posts on forums saying that they just don't work.

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for what I can do from Australia to get around this. I've seen some positive reviews of the Simon Cards, but their website says that they are not available in, or postable to, Vermont, which is where my friend lives.

You can buy a pre-paid card at any gas station or store, no questions asked!. And put any information on it. Its literally worth its weight in gold!

You can buy some online if you dont feel comfortable. Theres also people on this forum who can sell you a virtual credit card without the 3.95$ fee I pay for the physical card.

I'm in a giving mood today.
