Can anyone clear up the truthes behind AVS?
 

I'm a little confused really. What exactly DOES AVS pick up on? I thought it was exact details that are assigned to the card, but according to this: BBC NEWS | Technology | Conmen abuse web address checks it's just digits?

If so, could we use the information on this page to overcome the AVS malarky?

Modee or EbayHateLuv might know more about this then I do, but it seems to me AVS just verifies the zip code, and street address. Not so much the name of the street.

I'm probably wrong; all AVS are different and set by the merchant to check certain things in order to pass the card.

AVS is dependent on the card issuer. Each one has different criteria.;)

For pp-- I know i can wiggle the info to look the same--but diff cards--
They need good ZIPCODE, and the house number, last name same letter/similar
BUT--like Aspkin said--its diff for each one--you just gotta work with it + try
i.e.
For pp
If my REAL info is say:

Jane White 123 Main street NY NY 10012--thats what my card issuer has---

AND--my Virtual info is say:

John Kellety 505 Cross Roads Burbank, CA 90210

I would tweak it like this:
J Wkellety 123 Cross Roads Burbank, CA 10012

Try this --I believe this is how i got it to go in pp--its been months since ive done this--Since Ive learned about Simon, etc..

I think Paypal also makes sure that the city, state, and zip match.

When i buy something on a website and pay via credit card how do they verfiy the creditcard is it buy address or zip code? cause i read it was the zip code they check it to match the one on the card. is this correct?

They match the billing house number AND zip code

10111

They need 12 and 10111

ok so lets say i live at

john doe
11 wash st
nowhere Ca 12345

thats my home address and the address on the creditcard

and i put
john doe
11 hillside st
nowhere Ca 12345 then it would process it?
