People, there's a difference between "Vanilla" cards and "My Vanilla" cards - you need to buy the "My Vanilla" cards so that you can register them online with your details of choice (though they require a SSN)

Since when? Vanilla Visa Gift Cards work just fine, No SSN required.....not sure why people choose to make it difficult.

I have found that the mygiftcardsite.com cards that they sell in krogers stopped working for me about a year and a half ago. Before they stopped working or being recognized (For whatever reason) they just don't accept them anymore. I even waited until I could get some of their cards with the numbers being totally different, along with a different expiration date. Still no luck.

I also had a different brand that were working great for some time... and then about 6 months ago they stopped working as well and are now doing the same thing as the mygiftcardsite.com gift cards. They don't even recognize them as valid cards anymore, even though the cards are active and have sufficient funds.

Have you tried calling the number, telling them you just want a TEMPORARY NAME AND ADDRESS added to the card. You dont need to give a social or anything. Tell them youre just trying it out to see if you like it. They usually try to set you up with a permanant card. Tell them no, just add a name and address to the tempoary card you have. Should work for Paypal

Question Re: Vanilla gift card can't be recognized by Paypal

Hello guys,
Can anyone confirm if vanilla MC purchased from canadian walmart can still be used for ebay/paypal verification? Specifically, with new ebay accnt, in order to start selling? Or, is there are other cc solutions for canadian eb? Any one can answer this question?
Thanks!

I have used vanilla mc for Canadian confirmation in 2012 so my experience is dated - if you are in Canada, the RBC gift cc also works well. I haven't tried the vanilla visa sold in local shops yet...

Thanks for the quick response. As far as I now, rbc gift cc is no longer available :( Get to used it in the past, but not now. Last time at the local branch I was told that rbc is discontinued with these cards.
Any other solutions?
Thanks!

I can confirm the vanilla card is troublesome on PayPal. In the U.K. The Tesco visa gift cards work the best out if the three supermarkets I have visited.

Yes it will, just register the zipcode for your stealth account before trying to confirm it with PayPal.

You are confusing "Verify" and "Confirm".

A VCC \ Gift Card "Confirms" your PayPal. A VBA\Bank Verifies the PayPal. I don't really understand why people use Prepaids like Greendot, it's easy as using a Gift Card.
