How many accounts are safe to have with HSBC?

How many bank accounts can you have at a time with one branch without it being a problem? I am using HSBC for my stealth accounts right now, and it's working great with 3 basic checking accounts. But I wanna know: can I start making more? Will this raise suspicion with HSBC? How much is too much?

Any banks notably good for allowing customers to have many checking accounts without any problems? Am I worrying too much here? Is this not a concern??

Will the Sun set?

Will I burn my toast at breakfast?

Who will win the Rose Bowl this season?

Questions, questions, questions.....

Guess what? I think you are sensible to be concerned about making too many bank accounts. Good for you.

What are your overall plans for stealth?

You might consider say 3 more savings account with HSBC. It depends on your relationship with the bank.

My advice would be to not have all your incoming payments with one bank. Select at least one other bank.

EG, BoA allows a checking account & a savings account as one unit. Double check with them.

Cue rsot to say Harris Bank is good too.

I will speak only of my experience with HSBC.

SPREAD out over time, personal banking portfolio includes 4 chequing (with amounts in them to avoid monthly fee), 5 savings, 2 investment portfolios.

I intend to create another chequing soon. Lifespan of my being a member with HSBC is about 2-3 years.

My relationship is strong - credit card products, investments - 4 accounts in USA branches, rest in Canada.

It is a good bank

They shut me down after about 5 accounts. I consider myself lucky not getting reported to chex and EWS.

There are too many factors at play, it's too difficult to suggest any 1 bank that will allow an X amount of accounts.

On a personal note I would not open more than 4. Also, If you plan to push a lot of money through specific bank accounts, it would be a good idea to convert them to business accounts.

I have 4 at the moment and I am not going to expand beyond that with HSBC. Plenty of other banks out there.

You really have to be extremely smart and careful about opening bank accounts.

There is tons of threads covering this subject and what people did etc.
