Visa Gift Card Didn't Work?
 

My paypal account got limited not from ebay, but from someone who accessed my account and changed the security questions and my password. Luckily, paypal caught it and limited the account.

however, the final step to getting back on is entering a credit card. i got a visa gift card from walgreens and it didn't work. could i just use the debit card that is with my new bank account or can they see my real info?

You don't say what kind of name brand gift card it was.

It is a Gift2Go Visa Gift Card. Paypal says the contact the credit card company to confirm my address. How the hell is that ever gonna get approved.

Did you register the gift2go card with the correct information?

HI: I think thats the problem, Youve got to go in and register the card with the exact info that youve got in the pp acct..

Yeah OP is right i to bought a gift2go card which worked fine in the past well i registerd the card and used it on paypal they charged 1.95 to it and on the history it just shows Paypal and a phone number no EXP use # :mad: so eather g2g is blocking people from useing it on paypal or paypal is doing this crap so now i have to get a new card to add to get that w/d limt off my account.


I have a bank around here that sales gift cards that i used in the past for ebay and you can add your info to them so im going to try them today

I just tried to use 1 of my Yellow gift2go Visa cards to open a Paypal account.
During the registration they ask you for a credit card.... I give them the number.
They do the $1 authorization to check the card. No big deal.

The card transaction looked like this:
9/24/2008 4:09 PM Purchase PAYPAL 4029357733 US -1.00

Then I finished up with all the other registration crap.
I went to lift my limits.
I did the $1.95 charge to confirm my credit card and get the 4 digit number that is needed.
The card transaction looked like this:
9/24/2008 4:27 PM Purchase PAYPAL INC 402-935-7733 US -1.95

The card was charged with no problems.
The charge went through.
On the PP account I am looking at the window to enter the 4 digit number that never arrived.

It looks like there is a bug in the Paypal system.
I am going to call them this evening and question them.

i did goto the bank and got 2 gift cards there that worked fine but it sucks cause i had to buy them in cash as to walgreens g2g cards i use old cards to by new ones.

Also i tried rechargeing the 1.95 to it through paypal and it would not let me.

did you ever have any success on getting the expuse #? or talking to PP on phone?
i used the silver walmart card like you suggested and pp said "we can not send the 4 digit code to this card, try another" and yes, i did register it and everything, no luck with that card either. they did charge a $1.00 and added to my credit cards on file as "confirmed" lol.. but no expuse #. stupid!

Seems paypal has a system where they can tell that the cards a gift card i dont know what there doing but there doing something cause today i bought 2 gift cards from my bank at 2 dif times 1 at 2pm another at 7pm first one i got around 2pm i added it to my paypal vola instant expuse # so the 2nd card i did it around 7pm on another paypal account boom "we can not send the 4 digit code to this card, try another" so i dont know if when some one adds a card to paypal if there monkeys call and verfiy the card to see if its real or gift then add it to a banned list or what but there doing something to figer out which is real and which is gift.

Sometimes a specific brand works and sometimes it doesn't. It's usually how you enter the information.

I just found a visa card and the website is My Prepaid Card - Sign In has anyone had success using this card? Thanks!

i have tried 3 cards the past 3 days and found them to work

A g2g cards in fact do work they just dont do it instant i logged into the card today and the # was on there.

Yesterday I made post #7 about the Gift2Go cards having issues.
Today I logged back into that credit card account and the merchant information had changed.
Yesterday it said this: PAYPAL INC 402-935-7733
Today it says this: ####PAYPAL *EXPUSE
(Numbers removed)

So the Yellow Walgreen's Gift2Go cards do still work with paypal.
There is a delay in receiving the Expanded Use number.

Today I went to Walgreens to buy some gift2go. Then I got a rude cashier who said that they only take cash for the cards, not even debt card. So I left and went to Safeway.

Allaccess cards still work.

I purchased a silver Visa Walmart card and it shows the paypal as pending for $1.95 with no other information. How long does it take to get the paypal code?

It is starting to look like there is a 24 hour delay on the EXPUSE number.

I did it Saturday night and as of this morning its still Pending. If I call would they be able to give me the info?

I have a gift2go card that I bought with my billing info for a recipient in a made up name. I put the new address & phone # in for the recipient's info but I had the option of having the card mailed to me (the sender) or the recipient (clean address,) and I had it mailed to me for convenience. Since the recipient is in the name I plan on using for PAYPAL and eBay - and the address and phone # is going to be the same as the one I gave to Gift2Go for the recipient - won't this card work?? I got the card on Friday and it has the recipient's name on it so I would assume all the billing information is the same as I gave them for the recipient. Isn't that what will show up for PAYPAL or eBay? Should I have done anything differently? If this one doesn't work I can spend the $25.00 buying something - but I would prefer to use this for its' intended purpose. Also, I tried to get a Simon.com gift account and it will not accept either of my Mastercard accounts for payment. Has anyone else had this problem? What's up with that? In the application they have Mastercard as an option but I tried for 2 days and they kept saying to "...check my information and try again." I would really like to use Simon because it is so much easier and faster. Any suggestions?

You can follow the link above and get to the Gift2Go web site.
You can "register" the card there. You should register the card with your eBay/Paypal account information.
Then you can use the Gift2Go card for your eBay/Paypal account

Now I'm really confused, its not under pending or anything but my available balance is different from my current balance. They $1.95 has been deducted but it doesn't show up anywhere, any suggestions?


Also I have two buyers ready to pay but the amount is over $500 each and my limit is not lifted. If they pay without it being lifted will it be harder to get the limit lifted with over $1000 in the paypal account?
