Gift Cards to make purchases?

I noticed that Ebay accepts gift cards now for purchases. Is this limited to only AVS gift cards? Or would any gift card with a visa/master logo work?

Ive tried to use some gift cards on other websites before that did not allow me to register an address and it would not work. All it would allow me to register was a zip code.

Do i need a gift card with full AVS to buy on ebay with it?
