can Canadian open a US bank online?
 

I don't know if anyone asked this before, so am from Canada, by using VPN, IP/add/phone everything is US, including banks. the problem is since I don't have an SSN, I can not open account online, I have to personally go US when I have a chance and do so, however when I do that, bank always ask me bunch questions why I need multiple accounts, so in the end I only can own a couple accounts, since I want have more stealth for aging, not that easy, tried add my Canadian bank US dollar account, doesn't work, as paypal was registered using US info originally.
any inputs? appreciated it.

As a Canadian you have several banks that will offer a US based bank account including RBC and TD. And yes you can open multiple accounts with them. I would suggest no more than five. One checking and four savings (for the kids and nephews *wink wink*)
Same story applies to banks in the US. I dont know how many youre trying to open but I speak from experience when I say that opening a US account in the US as a Canadian is a very simple matter and you can open 5 accounts under each bank. Try the smaller banks and call ahead and do your research to make sure they will have no issues opening accounts for you.

I know that TD and BMO-Harris can be opened with sending in the proof (i.e. Canadian ID) - you don't need to go physically in to a branch....

good to know, so it is US based with correct digits right? like 9digit routing and 3-17 account number? will call customer service for more info

Hi guys. I see this is an old thread so not sure if stuff has changed. So I have a rbc canadian a count under my real information etc. And a U.S rbc bank account based in Georgia.that is being used by one of my amazon accounts currently. So am I able to open a savings account on that U.S based account? How about my real info like name and address? Does that matter or its not seen by Amazon?

Yes you can open several more accounts under that US profile.
Just call RBC Centura and talk to them about getting it done.
And no - noone can see the name of the bank account holder or the address of that person. And we already know they have no issue with deposits being made from mismatching names so you should be good to go.

What about if the US bank account TD/RBC was opened in canada. the transit is only 8 digits while paypal US asks for 9 digits. Is it possible to just add a 0 on the TD/RBC US bank account?

Theres a way to use a Canadian bank account for US balances - or at least there was and I dont know if it still works. Pretty sure its a bit more complex than just adding a '0' though so google for it.
I would suggest not doing that though. If you need a US bank account just contact RBC and get things done properly and open it with their US branch. Its simple and very quick to have it all setup and the added benefit is you can have several US bank accounts meaning more ebay/paypal accounts for you to open and develop.
