Charges on Simon Card from PAYPAL

PAYPAL 4029357733 US
Purchase - Membership Organizations not elsewhere classified
1.00

I have 3 of these on my card and it is the reason why i cant pay for something online. It's been 24 hours and they haven't been refunded. Any ideas? I've looked for a solution for a while on this forum but most of the talk is about expuse and not the general 1.00 charges.

They won't get refunded to your card because simon is not refundable.

Johnny_88 02-03-2009 04:42 PM

it is refundable. I've had them refunded before.

GreenBean 02-03-2009 06:14 PM

Does it not depend on which simons card you purchase?

philly387 02-03-2009 09:30 PM

Well I have use the gift account and nothing has ever been refunded. I have never used the physical cards though.

Johnny_88 02-04-2009 09:16 AM

shizer, maybe it was because i had a plastic last time that it got refunded. this time i have a giftaccount. This is rediculous now I cant pay for 17$ item because my card has 15.30. if i buy a new card I have to waste a 2$ fee. What the hell is wrong with these companies?

Johnny_88 02-04-2009 09:18 AM

On second thought I have 1.95 in my paypal account from the expuse refund. Does anyone know a way I can pay 15.30 from my credit card (giftcard) on file with paypal, and 1.95 with my funds currently in paypal?

Johnny_88 02-04-2009 09:33 AM

OK i just called them and they said they will be refunded within 5 days. Yet, I wonder if they knew i was talking about a Simon GiftAccount. I did say I only have 15$ in my card and therefore cannot make the payment because of their fees on my card but don't know if PP personel are competent to assume I'm not talking about a reg CC.

Now that i think of it, something else that confused me was her reason for these charges. She said the 1$ charges occur when your card gets declined to double check that the CC does in fact accept charges. This is contradicting considering I could have made the payment if those charges hadn't been made on my card proving that the charges came before I made the attempt to purchase....weird.

I'll wait another 3 days and see what happens, then call them back. I'll keep whoever's interested updated.

Those dollar charges are authorizations, not actual charges.

They are there to make sure the card is valid, I think that's what the rep waS trying to tell you.

They are in a pending state and they just go away in a few days, just like she told you. Then those dollars will be available for you to spend.

Thanks a lot this is what I suspected but today's the 3rd day and they're still not off so i was getting a little bit worried. Maybe by the end of the day they'll be back.

GreenBean 02-04-2009 04:31 PM

Simons cards are often bad service-wise after a weekend. Just wait a bit longer

Yes they are.... USPS Charges before you print. If you have a printing error, you choose No it did not print correctly. Five business days later the money is back in the account.

The money might be in your paypal account. I know the $1.95 service charge gets deposited back into your paypal. However the $1 are just credit card authorizations to make sure the cards valid. Give it 5-7 business days.

Johnny_88 02-08-2009 10:35 AM

Yep thanks. Philly they were indeed refunded today even thought it was an online giftaccount. I've also had them returned on a plastic card before so either way the authorizations can in fact return to your card.

Maybe it was because paypal always put the money back into my paypal account is why I thought they could not be refunded. But good news I guess! Thanks.
