Default Advice On Card Based in Russia?

Hi, group!

Can anybody tell me where I can buy a card, that is, a one-time or disposable pre-paid card or, better yet, a virtual card based in Russia?

What happens is that I need to send some money to the card of a guy in Russia via Yandex Money, and Yandex Money only accepts card payments from Russian cards to Russian cards. You can check this out here:

https://money.yandex.ru/cashdesk/2.0...37366465653332 .

This will be a one time deal with the Russian seller, at least for now, and I can say that the amount I would be placing on the Russian card would be around USD 20.00 (or the equivalent in Russian rubles).

Have you asked him about alternative payment methods, Skrill perhaps?

Yes, I have, sax4. The seller in question then sent me the URL of a business that seems even more obscure than Yandex. As such, I would rather stick with Yandex.

P.S.: The good news for me is that what I am buying would be much less than USD 20.00...sweet!

You can ask him to use an associate with Paypal account. For a small fee they will accept Paypal but be careful.

Webmoney is another popular payment service in Russia, he should have no qualms about using this.

@sax4. Yes, WebMoney also offers virtual cards, so I appreciate the advice. I am becoming a member of WebMoney as of now. The bad thing about WebMoney is that it is too complicated to understand, and some internal links are even en Russian. But the good thing is that this service has been in operation since 1998, so this gives me some confidence.

@Klemantina. About PayPal, the Russian guy told me he was going to ask a friend about it, but that was at the very beginning of our communication. Since he never mentioned it again, I suppose that his friend told him no.

@rsot. I am not sure about EntroPay, but I believe they do not offer virtual cards, only physical cards. I have to double check.

Thanks a lot to all!

Yes, PayPal to Yandex is an option, but I would not rule out a VCC as an alternative. As for Kiwi, I am not familiar with it, do you have the URL?

I am thinking about becoming a member of TransferWise sometime this year, but not at this particular moment. A similar service that I also remember is CurrencyFair.

Update on EntroPay!

Well, EntroPay indeed offers a virtual card issued by the Bank of Valetta in Malta. However, I believe this would not work with Yandex Money since Yandex requires a transfer made from a Russian card to another Russian card, leaving out non-Russian cards. On the other hand, WebMoney offers virtual cards issued by Russian banks. One way or another, it is nice to know that EntroPay is another alternative when it comes to general virtual cards.

@Makabe, Entropay does offer virtual card but if truly Russian-only card...yes would not work...

@Klemantina. In regards to kiwi, probably you mean qiwi. I checked this service out, but they don't work via online means. They work similarly to the way WesterUnion used to, that is, a customer needs to visit a place to transfer the money. Thanks for the recommendation, though!
