Ebay doesn't verify VCC's anymore?
 

Hi,

I've trying to create a ebay account using VCC (virtual credit card) and it seems that ebay no longer verifies the credit card when it is detected when VCC is used. Once ebay detects that the credit card is a VCC, it will only give you the option to verify by phone#.

I'm located in canada and this is what I have been experiencing. Is this happening to anyone else?

Hmmm, that's odd

I have sold many VCC's for eBay verification up until today I have not rec'd any feedback from any customer that they are no longer working.

MAybe there is something else up that is casuing this issue with you?

location verification and vcc may be an issue now
 

I am NOT refering to one of earlts cards but there is a current issue being investigated and tested by myself with regard to european accounts. yes ebay is now detecting a particular unsupported card, and giving an error message for a particular one. can no longer use them for location verification, (some countries still allowed this up til recently,) so I am not surprised by this develpment from our canadian memeber. Now has to be a phone line to make a seller account, we are double checking to make sure that they can be used on ebay, as a a payment method - it seems that may be ok though.

Earlt your cards may be fine, update us on any news you get.

paypal definately still accepts all recommended forum vcc, but the only proven issue is seller account ebay verification problem, which was only accepted in certain countries anyway (not US or UK, thats for sure).

I guess Ebay Canada is using this new policy to verify sellers account now.

Does the card have a zip code and street connected to it?

In the USA u have to verfiy your phone in order to sale theres no way around it maybe this rule gose for canada now as well

I tried making an email account on inbox.com, a free email service. After their long signup and CAPTCHA process, they then demanded I verify my phone number. I tried to avoid it by selecting afghanistan as my country. Still, they demanded a call.

I raged so much.

i sell on ebay.co.uk and entropay credit cards dont seem to work with paypal or ebay anymore but 3v credit cards still do

No, there are no address or zip code attached to the vcc I used.

look the vcc and location verification was a loophole that was going to close up eventually, regardless of it address attached or not, because they know you can put in any address, so it isnt proof.

some vcc not support avs so ebay reject it :(

My VCC still work with eBay...

I used one of earlt's cards for my Canadian account and it worked perfect. 23423

earlt and lakeman, are your cards working for location verification? ie instead of a landline to make seller account? or are you using it just for a payment method/fees on ebay only.

If VCC cards stop working with paypal i am screwed. I wont be able create new accounts. Im scared

We are definately NOT saying they have stopped working, they are working for ebay and paypal, the only loophole we think may be closing is registering yourself as a seller purely using vcc instead of landline (like UK and US do)
I would be very surprised if they would be banned as they are taking away a customer right to have a vcc for online use which is perfectly legitimate, plus they would lose so much business, not everyone wants their main credit cards with high limit used online, it would put off potential users for sure.
in uk paypal is ok with 3v and entropay and entropay works for ebay, entropay is apparently still working for ireland - maybe you should try again.

great news 3v worked for both paypal and ebay :yar: on ebay.ie

I created 2 accounts using 2 3v vouchers. also im not too sure about this
but i wasnt asked to verify my location on one of my accounts(ebay)
and i can list items and even bins. I think this was because i linked my verifed paypal account before trying to sell anything.

vcc still works with me...
can make new account everyday if have time :D

I though telephone verification of UK eBay sellers accounts had been mandatory for some time now?? :eek:

phone verification is to make a seller account it is mandatory.

they are talking about the verification of the vcc you add

Please Note: UK , Australia , and Canadian PayPal accounts also require a bank account for full verification. Other countries Paypal accounts will be fully verified using this VCC

i did not understand, if I but vcc from you which bank account must I show to paypal?
