Hardware Bitcoin Wallet

Take your Bitcoin bank wherever you go!
Great for offline BTC storage. Recover funds by remembering set of words.
Forget fiat currency, BTC all the way!

I do like the idea of cold store for BTC. I have seen a couple of similar devices over the last few months.

At the moment I still keep all my BTC (as USD, so not BTC directly) in coinbase but maybe its time to move it!

I do the same James. I store BTC as GBP on Coinbase in order to remove the volatility of the currency.

Re: Hardware Bitcoin Wallet

If plan on seriously investing in BTC (which I may do this year), a hardware wallet is the way to go. I plan on getting one. :)

Lots of people like Ledger as well. Just always make sure you know your private keys.

I gotta email Coinbase as well to find out if they are supporting BIP 148. This is going to rocky August 1st. Gotta figure out how this is going to work with multiple different Bitcoins.

Is this hardware wallet like a USB device you just hook up and transfer the BTC to the device to keep safe right? Do you like copy paste the wallet from PC to USB Device?

I'm just worried it has a built in wifi and transfers it all to the owner some day.

PLEASE BE SURE TO DO A REVIEW FOR ALL OF US. Trezor vs Ledger seems to be the dabate amongst the Crypto Bugs with regards to Cold Storage.

Re: Hardware Bitcoin Wallet

and for cold storage you dont need a hardware wallet, you need a piece of paper, now for a functioning use all the time thing you might consider a hardware wallet but do you really think blockchain is going anywhere and you only put on there what you intend to use often. Hardware wallets truly are a gimmick.

Spread out the ability to recover your funds, this is the goal no matter how gimmicky you might think.

Everything involves risk, for you there's more risk because you are a negative person that attracts negativity.
