I am thinking of setting up a mining rig and I want to know the best place to put it.

i think those are base prices but in most 5th world countries if you consume a large amount the costs skyrocket

I would expect something around Russia / ex Russian countries like Ukraine would be really cheap

Is it even worth mining anymore? Pretty sure the costs eventually outweigh the reward. I was going to try last year but it seems we've joined in too late

Iceland has an abundance of Geothermal energy and because of the cold weather it helps cool the hot machines. That is why major mining projects like Genesis Mining are located there.

IMO Bitcoin isn't worth mining anymore. Play's comment about the Chinese is correct, and that's why all the huge BTC mining farms are in China.

Ether mining can still be worth it for small operations though. Same with Monero and a few other altcoins. I mined Monero on my dual-core (POS) laptop for a week a few months ago and made $60.

Have any of you heard of Minergate? It's software that allows you to use 100% of your CPU on any computer for mining. And it's a GUI so there's no fooling around with command lines...

minergate is garbage. only good if you can deploy it like a fkn bo/tnet

even in the list of pools they have mentioned minergate is not a recommended pool

Haha I'm not a crypto expert, I just thought it was cool to mine with a GUI.

I don't see how it would be useful on a botnet since it's graphical and way more resource intensive than simple command-line mining.

Inform me, lol. Why does Minergate suck compared to traditional mining?
