Ethereum Mining Profit After B2X Fork Cancelled...

ATM Ethereum is @ $317USD. Just to give you an idea of what actual income looks like running 8x Zotac GTX 1070's @ a total combined hash rate of 263Mh/s mining with nanopool... 1.3 coins a month with a value of $432.45, a little over $100 a week. Now if the price goes back up above $350 like it was in June...

How much does your mining rig add to your power bill?

<1200w @ $0.104kWh
I think I'm at 1140w at the wall. My Kill A Watt burned out with 9.5A going through it even though its rated at 15A. Have to take it back to Home Depot ASAP.

I live in Florida so the summer will be a real "B" on electric bill. At least Nvidia put out less heat than AMD... and uses less pwr...
I've been trying to compensate by shutting everything I can off and opening the windows when it gets below 71F. Should be > $100

I think ETH is about to take a run... $323USD and climbing.

F.Y.I. Electricity is measure in kilowatt hours on your electricity bill. Since we know that 1 kilowatt is equal to 1,000 watts, calculating how many kWh a particular device uses is as easy as dividing by 1,000. x 720 hours in a month @ $0.11kWh

I hope so. I invested heavily last year and ETH has been sitting steady since, with BTC skyrocketing. I guess if/when it does start taking off, your mining efforts will have been worth it.

I wasn't trying to discredit your operation, just curious if Ether mining is even financially viable with current rates. My power bill jumped $120 the month I tried mining (monero) so that turned me off to it. Doesn't seem worth it unless you invest in the most efficient stuff you can find.

$0.104kWh = $.000104Wh
1200 x $.000104 = $.1248 per hour
$.1248 x 24 = $2.9952 per day
$2.9952 x 30 = $89.56 per month

right?

If those numbers are accurate I guess you're making plenty of money. Let the A/C (coming up on heater time) run man.

right?

Only time will tell, this is my first month, whats calculated and whats actually on the bill could be different. Plus I've been trying to keep as many other things unplugged as possible just to see if it helps.

There's definitely a difference between AMD and Nvidia cards when it comes to power consumption. Even the algorithm you hash with can make a difference.

Since my strategy is to hold long, the way I see it, even if I broke even this month at today's price, I believe it'll turn into profit within the next 12 months. I have faith in ETH.

A lot of times there are more profitable things to mine on a day to day basis, but it might not work out the same a month or a year from now if the price rises.

I didn't take offence to your question. It's not quick money... That's why I posted this, its actually more than I expected right now.

The best part about it is the whole thing's automated. I wrote a batch file to reboot widows if it crashes or I drop a GPU and a another batch file to start the miner after Windows boots. If Windows were to freeze, nanopool sends me a email that the miner's offline. Now I'm just waiting on a WiFi power switch from China that can handle 16A 3200W so I can toggle power at the wall remotely.

I actually wish I had more to invest in this or could find other automated ways to make money.

Another thing is that Crypto's so volatile its seems easier to trade. It's not like you have to wait months for it to come back like you do with fiat. I traded on Forex for a few years back when the economy crashed in 07-11 and I had a nice amount of fast South Florida money... until I had to take a forced break for a few years and start over from nothing... But I do have some experience.

I'm just trying to educate myself a lot more before I start heading down that route.

Here is my set up,
http://i64.tinypic.com/18ln5w.png

I have 12 machines mining, most are Nvidia cards, mostly 1060 3gb, and about 3 1070s and the rest AMD rx470's. Some have bios mod but most of them dont. The AMD didnt like when the bios where modded so I have to run most of them stock. I am slowly switching over to all 1070s when I can pick them up for cheap from anywhere.

My monthly power cost if around $540 for a 1 bedroom apartment. I dont live there right now, I mostly stay at the girl friends house. That apartment is to hot to live in.

I started back in March and April. All of my mining machines are fully paid for, anything from onward is profit, plus I can still resell the equipment for slightly more than I paid for it. For instance, I bought 24 zotac 1060 3gb from Microcenter for $163(?) or 168. I can resell those right now for 180-$200. This was back in April right before the mining boom when I knew that AMD cards where going to be hard to find so I bought some Nvidia cards.

Don't you find that it take longer to build up 0.1 ETH with Ethmine even though it shows the same hash rate as nanopool? I timed how long it took to build up 0.05 ETH last week using Ethmine and it took a few more hours than it did with Nanopool even though I had the same hash rate and actually found more shares with Ethmine. It doesn't make sense to me, I would think a bigger pool is better but it didn't seem that it worked out that way.

What else do you mine besides ETH?

Are you mining with Windows or SMOS?

1.4Gh... those payouts must come in quick....

I get .23 ether coins per day.

I'll look into ethmine. I mine with windows, a pirated version of win 10 pro all on mining machines.

Do you mine with nanopool?

I think the difficulty can change continuously depending on how many active miners there are--unless you are mining identical machines with identical settings to different pools under repeated tests, I don't think you'd be able to reach that conclusion.

^^^^ the diff swings are ridiculous. one day all EThash coins on top, then next day it's Equihash, then next day its CryptoNight, and now i see Lyra popping in and out. calculating my exact income has become impossible. then you got pool hopping going on...

If anyone reading this is the type person who buys the stuff to mine with, abuses it, then returns it as defective... you are a low-life piece of sh*t!

Carry on!

With equipment costs, how long until you are profitable? Including the electricity required to run it...

I know bitcoin mining requires specialized ASIC miners, but look at the difficulty change today in response to the price reversal(if anyone has a more accurate difficulty graph, let me know):
