Goal: No Sell Bitcoin 2018

I don't invest more than 10% of my net worth into bitcoin.

Good strategy. I also have a similar strategy, such that if I lose the money, it wont be my demise. That should be the way to invest.

This thread will be about my journey to holding for 2018 and what that will bring. It's an experiment and part of the game for me.

The greatest part of Bitcoin for me is the fact that this is only the start of something big, we are the "early adopters", and when something becomes successful, its the early adopters that are most rewarded!

What is the best way to buy if based in UK?

I have only come across Coinbase...but would like other recommendations before I start the journey

If you're new, I always recommend Coinbase. They hold the most amount of Bitcoins, and they are one of the biggest exchanges right now. They're also located in the US, so under some regulation (albeit not so stringent).

They are easy to use, and you're best place to start.

Bitcoin just hit $19k and change a few minutes ago on coinbase before dropping back to 16k. It's been a wild day on the discord server.

Does anyone know how I could buy instantly on GDAX like on coinbase? From what I understand, coinbase owns GDAX. I already had a coinbase account and I just linked up to my GDAX account. When I try to buy, it only shows the option to deposit funds from my bank account but it says it will take 3-5 business days to arrive. So how can I buy right now at the current price without having to wait?

only way is through credit card. There are other exchanges that let you buy with CC. You have to google research. Poloniex? Bitrex? I'm not sure.

What is crazy is how much more the Chinese/Koreans are paying for Bitcoin in the last 4-6 months.

They are regularly paying a 10-15% premium on the coins

I would imagine its the Chinese opening banks in Korea to transfer funds with all the issues with Bitcoin in China?

Don't sell. You will see BTC at 100k in your lifetime. There is 21 million coins in the world and each day someone loses a little bit of btc each day.

If your investing a large sum, i'd opt for bank transfer. Takes longer, but works out cheaper + avoids all the coinbase hassle.

With the spread you've got going there, long term I don't see you losing out. If you HODL, and things dont pan out, the worst case I see is you recoup your initial investment. No loss, no gain (given one of the three do actually take off).

You are going to love this.... Trust me... Win or Lose this is the funnest way to make money I've experienced next to selling tanks of XTC back in the 90's... Every day is something new. And when you're invested you feel it....

I have two very important words your going to need to know. First word is HODL (hold) this is what you do when the second word comes into play...
