That reminds me of myself, and of how I found this forum. I used to believe in the one goodie theory and most others here probably did too until they found this forum.

I don't really understand why you wouldn't try to spread the risk. Have you not learned your lesson yet? :lol: Did AMZ and ebay not teach you that one lesson?

Just when you think 2018 will be the rise of the alts and bitcoin cash will threaten bitcoin for market cap leader, bitcoin will bounce back.

Looks like Bitcoin dominance for the first time since I can remember has dropped below 50%

My guess are the Bitcoin whales have been moving into every top 100 altcoin which would explain the crazy bull run with nearly every alt. It seems like they are timing this with the difficulty changes between BTC/BCash

Coinbase will be releasing bitcoin cash the first week of January and my guess is the Bitcoin whales are well aware of this. My guess is they will buy back into Bitcoin before everyone starts dumping their BCash.

Right now BCash is about 70% more profitable to mine than Bitcoin so if you follow the difficulty changes in the next few days, or up to a week you can predict a good time to sell your Alts back to BTC or purchase BTC, before the prices skew in favor of Bitcoin again. https://whattomine.com/asic

I think the Bitcoin whales will be moving back into Bitcoin within the next 10 days so be cautious about holding Alts, especially if you recently bought any at the top. If you're looking to purchase Bitcoin soon, within the next 10 days should give you a good entry, follow the difficulty with the URL above and once BTC starts becoming just as profitable as BCash, that may be a good buying at the dip opportunity.

Remember the BTC downturns are usually short lived, 1-3 days from my experience, so watch it closely! :bird:

It was at under 50% for most of the year actually if I remember correctly.

It seems the dip was start of introduction of Bitcoin Cash on coinbase. I tried to buy low, but then it just got clogged and the rest is to the moon history

All this talk about the flippening... What does bitcoin cash think it's going to do? take over visa? its too early in the game to use coins as cash. you may end up buying a cup of coffee for 1$ today.... a month from now that coffee could have cost you 5 or 10$.... Bitcoin does exactly what I want it to right now... act as a savings account the gov cant touch while paying me super interest on my money.

Watch the bounce BTC does after this.... There never seems to be a dull moment in this space. Hope no one panic sold.

And those $8,000 BCH prices on Coinbase and GDAX were only because of all the buy orders with no coins to sell. That wasnt the true price.

I agree with every single word of yours here.
For now BTC is virtual gold. In the future its utilization will improve and make it even more valuable. Applications such as the lightning network and wider market penetration will allow everybody to use it a lot more easily than other coins today.
The fact you have people trying to manipulate the system for the short term profit taking doesnt change the overall trend which is upwards.

exactly. then price peaks to insane highs and coinbase magically crashes. the exchange that is controlling the sales is now controlling the price with halts and 502 errors. i just can't believe how many people are falling for this sc.am. and all it's doing is adding fuel to the fire that crypto is nothing but full of cri.mi.nals.

I had a buy order activate at $15.5k.

I'll keep putting buy orders in as far as we go. Next one will be around 14k.

That said I'm stocking back up after some selling about a month ago.

An Australian exchange, Independent Reserve, has instructed customers to NOT put the word BITCOIN in any transfers. This is to stop our banks getting antsy.

Delayed my buying last night. Made me feel worried. All OK now.

Still buying, oh yeah.
