Default Riot blockchain nasdaq:riot

How did this slip past any comment? I just noticed it on the ticker of CNBC.

Riot Blockchain Inc is a first mover on the NASDAQ focused on blockchain technology.

Riot Blockchain intends to gain exposure to the blockchain ecosystem through targeted investments in the sector, with a primary focus on the bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains. The rollout of this strategy has commenced with strategic investments in Coinsquare.io, Tesspay.io, and Verady.com.

Riot Blockchain has also launched its own Bitcoin mining operation.

The Company continues to maintain its legacy Bioptix business segment, including its royalty license stemming from an Exclusive License Agreement with Ceva Santé Animale S.A.

Anyone looked into this yet?

My retired friend keeps telling me to look at Riot. I thought he was talking about the coin though, so I didn't look into it. It's up 240% on the month. Might be a good investment if you like traditional stock vs alt coins or bitcoin.

What came first, the blockchain or bitcoin? I thought both came about the same time (2008), yet this Riot stock has been about since 2003.

Or have they rebranded from their legacy offerings.

Don't quote me 100% on this.... But I saw a YouTube video where they said that blockchain tech started in 1993... But it was completely different than what Bitcoin ended up implementing in 2008 where he solved the issue of double spending... but it's suppose to be where Satoshi got some of the concept.

I wonder why there hasn't been any news on this... I don't know sh#t about stocks but it looks to me like this thing's mooned since Sep.

It has mooned as of recent - correct.

But click max (rather than last 1 year, 5 yr etc.), and you'll see it was ridiculously higher in 2007. Then Bitcoin came along soon after - did that cause its demise? or was it the recession?

I think anyone considering this stock needs to really read up on it.

I dont know about Riot Blockchain, but it seems like a lot of wallstreet is trying to get in on the action, since they cant figure out how to make their own scam coin... Check out this one that got pumped today... They just mention they have something to do with blockchain and the less tech advanced jump on board....

Longfin's Stock Running Wild After Blockchain Acquisition
Benzinga-3 hours ago
The level of volatility seen in the stock is consistent with the triple-digit percentage gains over a very short period of time seen in other cryptocurrency-related plays, such as Riot Blockchain Inc (NASDAQ: RIOT), another company with new cryptocurrency exposure. Naturally, Longfin's investors are urged to ...

Longfin acquired Ziddu.com which I'd bet money is a scam coin. Their website isn't even a secure site.... hosting their wallet....

Someone probably still had a pile of stock from 10 years ago when Riot was @ 3,000+ and figured "lets say we're doing blockchain tech so we can unload this sh#t"....

so like the cana.bis stock boom? which eventually all came crashing down. right now anything with crypto, blockchain, digital currency, etc in the name is just trying to ride the wave. with most of them being utterly useless
