Where can I purchase alt coins with USD?
 

Hey guys, I'm looking to get involved with coins like ripple and such, so I wondered where can I purchase these kinds of small coins with USD? like how coinbase is.

Coins like IOTA or Ripple
Those are little coins, Im looking to buy little coins, Coinbase does not offer what I'm looking for, they offer big coins like Bitcoin, ETH.

So just an FYI, Next time try including more information in your original question, like I'm looking to buy alt coins like IOTA or Ripple.....this way a quick answer can be provided....otherwise it feels like we have to drag the info out of you.

You can't with USD. Basically coinbase is as good as it gets. If you want to purchase alt coins you have to transfer your Cryptos from Coinbase or wherever to a place like Bittrex or Polinex then trade them using the BTC or in some cases ETH markets.

I don't really reccomend this for newbies because you will probably leave them on the exchange and don't understand what private keys are, backup passphareses or hardware wallets. Security in this space is ultra important and it takes some time to adopt to the learning curve.

I used to to transfer Ether from my coinbase wallet to Bleutrade, then trade for tiny altcoins there. Bleutrade doesn't have what you're looking for but the concept would be the same for another altcoin exchange.

Buy BTC/ETH/LTC on coinbase -> transfer to wallet on another exchange -> trade for little coins

Buy btc @ Gemini or localbitcoins.com. Convert them with shapeshift.io or use an exchange like poloneix. Please guys don't use coinbase. We don't need that garbage of company in crypto community. Coinbase is worst than PayPal. They will shut your account down for anything.
