You NEED to go to the marketplace and choose a seller for VCC.

You can't just buy them from some random people and not get scammed

Good advice. I have purchased from one of the vcc sellers here and VCCs are solid. You will also need to use a mixer service like cryptomixer.is to blend the Bitcoin if you want privacy. Bitcoin is not anonymous or private otherwise...

Yes, I suppose there is a chance for a mixing site to seize coins if they don't like the origin (most people don't know coins can be traced and some sites can flag them as stolen, even if you got them legitimately), however I have used this mixer site (cryptomixer.is) several times with no issues. They do not care about the origin (it's none of their business anyway). There are many ⊗⊗⊗⊗ blender sites though, so be careful. In addition to using the mixer, I split the incoming Bitcoin into several output addresses, so there is added privacy. The site also has options to vary processing times, etc. I can then convert the outgoing BTC into monero, pay bills in BTC, or keep it in my wallet.

Nice Automasters - but with all that movement/splitting etc, the fees aren't killer?

I believe the fee is the same, as the mixer has an option where you can add multiple outputs from the single input...
