I still think BTC is cool but it's unfortunate how the tech has been turned into a tool for profit/financial manipulation. I was sitting on a little over a hundred dollars worth before today. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 08-20-2026 01:21 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs it is a rally engineered for midterm elections , I would get out by late october and not wait much longer
the issue on crypto is speculative funding , money flows in and flows out without getting invested long term that is why the only broad market rise that is reliable is a fundamental one , election manipulation means it will go down soon as fundamentals in the economy are abysmal |
| phaz0rz | 08-20-2026 02:12 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs It's the same with stock markets. Everything has been gamified so now everyone is gambling.. just with varying levels of sophistication.
As for crypto, the time to "get rich HODLing" is long gone. There's too much money involved now and it's been institutionalized. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 08-20-2026 04:01 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs crypto is just more violent because stocks have a lot of long capital while crypto is more like high and low tide |

Any one of you who wants to sell gold,do not sell on EBay and pay FEES,I know a gold dealer who is registered to sell direct to US govt.
You tell him what you have (carat and weight),he will presell to US govt and then offer you a price.
You sent him the gold and he will deposit your check in your bank account or send you a check.
No FVF fee,no credit card fee and no INAD,INR disputes |
| phaz0rz | 08-20-2026 07:28 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs I just got a postcard in the mail earlier this week from a metal dealer on the other side of the country that I bought from a few years ago. You know the market is doing well when they're able to afford bulk mailing cold customers from a database.. |
Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs I have money in BTC that is just speculation - longterm holding, not worried about needing it so here's hoping it jumps back up |
| james_112233 | 08-21-2026 01:57 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs Been in the game for a while now and thankfully it's worked out so i'm no longer fearful of any major dips, it's just another opportunity to buy if I have the means to do so at the time. |
| phaz0rz | 08-21-2026 02:50 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs What were your entrance positions though? Have any of you actually made a decent profit just by having diamond hands and not selling?
Feels like even the guys who were originally super confident in crypto as an investment have long since abandoned the positions that could've made them rich. |
| agent006140 | 08-21-2026 09:14 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs wonder if it has any thing to do with our all out anti IRAN policy.

Feels like even the guys who were originally super confident in crypto as an investment have long since abandoned the positions that could've made them rich. | The problem is that it's tough to pinpoint the ups and downs - I don't trade but that diamond hands aspect I appreciate - I am (thankfully for now) able to leave a chunk of change in the btc just letting it go wild - bought quite some time back so it's just a long hold... |

Like no one can do business with Iran | I assumed it was more directly related to the South Korean stock market dipping |

I asked futuremogul88 a few weeks ago if he's a millionaire yet because he made an accurate prediction about BTC going over $100k on this forum back before it had passed $20k for the first time. He never responded though :noidea: |
| agent006140 | 08-22-2026 03:32 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs The ones who retire young are the early early IPO investors. |
| phaz0rz | 08-22-2026 03:46 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs What about the early ICO investors though? I've heard of one or two. Most people pull the trigger and sell when they see a 2-3x profit, rather than stay exposed to the risk. |

Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs Whatever happened to the guy who threw out his hard drive with BTC and was trying to search a landfill...an agent question. |
| phaz0rz | 08-23-2026 11:53 AM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs That guy should try to recover the BTC with his wallet's seed phrase because he'll never find the hard drive. I'm fairly certain that the recent coldcard hack has proven that even offline wallets can be drained if the seed phrase is known. |
| agent006140 | 08-23-2026 03:39 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs I dont know what happens,I know my boss once lost his contac lens in a swimming pool and ask the pool to be drained/
Someone was threatened in an NYC hotel for his Bitcoins.
I cant believe USPS shipping is so expensive now, just talked to my gold dealer,he said does not matter what form of gold it is,they will all be scrapped and turned into gold bars.
sugnature confirmation is $9.70?? |

It's actually up almost 20k in just a few days, but right now we're meeting a resistance at 80k, it will either consolidate here for a few days or get a correction to 72k THEN pump fast to 84K ish breaking the ema to bull trap people then nuke to 55k or even below.
We're still in a beat market. |

We're still in a beat market. | Do you think so ?
Because this cycle has been different to the ones in the past I feel like this is it ... it's an extended cycle. We are going to all time new highs this year and it will catch everyone out.
Having a 4 year cycle is too predictable, too easy now. Everyone will make money if it continues like that. They need to catch people out. |

I'm guessing by the replies that none of you are long term holders.
I went ahead and put a little more into BTC just now in case it's headed back to $100k or higher. It's all so shady though. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 08-25-2026 02:16 PM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs BTC is rising but other coins are lame which indicates that money is being funneled into BTC specifically so we are not gonna see a true bull market but rather a pump-up for midterms , I would exit by late october and take profits |

You're adding more to your margin??
Because if you're buying spot, now is not the right time.
I reckon we'll see a retest of 77.4 today as it's been consolidation at above the bull flag, take the liquidity below there then if it reacts as support, we'll prolly see a soul taker of a bull trap and catch these damn moonboys and wreck them. |

Take what the market gives you and not fight it. |
Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs Take some profit - keep some capital in BTC - ride the stretch - it's hard to time the exact maximums |

Foreign countries which have asked us to hold their gold now want them back or transfer to London, they see what happens to Russia after they invaded Urkaine, they see what happens to Iran, the Dutch-.
They just moved most of their gold held in US back to Holland and London on private plane/
With Bitcoin, you dont need to charter a plane which could crush into an ocean ! |

| phaz0rz | 09-05-2026 08:55 AM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs As far as I know, the El Salvador central bank is the only one officially holding a bitcoin reserve. The US holds an assortment of forfeited cryptocurrencies outside of the central banking structure.
Central banks aren't really the financial community though, IMO. |
| agent006140 | 09-05-2026 09:25 AM | Re: BTC up $5k in the last 24hrs US treasury also holds bitcoins.
Yes,I remember El Salvador go all in on Bitcoin and gives each citizen some free Bitcoin to start, they guickly convert them to US $ and hardly use Bitcoin to purchase goods,
Stores do not advertise they accept Bitcoins. |
