most major cities have a wholesale district ,check them out first.
Retailers would also sell wholesale,20% discount.
Best is to go to a trade show and visit the merchants,they are either manufacturer or wholesalers,importers.
You can see and feel the merchandise and talk to the seller.
pick up catalogues and samples.
There are different kinds of tradeshows,for gifts,books,watches,antiques,jewelry etc
if you are looking for foreign goods,you will find ordering driect from the manufacturer is always cheaper than ordering from an importer in your country,as the importer marks them up to cover his own expenses.altho some foreign manufacturer have exlcusive agents who handle their accounts and will direct you to them eg Hummel figurines.
But there are many small companies who cannot afford to have an agent in every country and they do have some interesting things to sell you |
