What are other sites besides dhgate , alibaba, aliexpress and dropshipping that are useful for product sourcing?
I really am going around in circles when it comes to this. :hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail: |

Getting a tax number and business license is your best asset if you want quality items and real wholesale prices. |

| dallis | 06-04-2018 08:08 AM | Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? They've got this great new thing called 'Google', it's a search engine, you type stuff you're looking for in the top blank space, hit return and it gives you results that you can further research and follow up on.
For widgets, type in 'widget manufacturer' and it will give you a list. Then contact all of the suppliers and talk to them.
Try that.
Really, dude... we all did our homework. Don't ask to copy ours. |

| guolulu | 06-11-2018 04:31 AM | Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? I recommend Chinabrands, you can search for it via google and find out.
Chinabrands has a complete platform service system: a broad sales network, brand promotion, supply chain finance, product information upload, supply warehousing system, a large number of supply options, a global generation, product promotion and copywriting description, technical support docking, professional After-sale service.Product quality is strictly controlled, and suppliers are preferred. Suppliers have stable supply, reliable quality, and have their own graphics, and no product infringement risks. |

the most i've ever gotten is an email about how " we aren't looking for anymore merchants to carry our products at the moment"
i really didn't understand what that meant, i was offering money to a company in exchange for products, but they didn't want to sell to me?
super weird.. |

how about this: http://www.apple.com/ or this: http://www.pampers.com/diapers-wipes
The process goes like this:
1.) You call them or email them and ask what it takes to buy wholesale.
2.) They answer you.
3.) You meet the requirements or you dont.
4.) You buy goods or your dont.
4.) REPEAT process 1-4 |
Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? A long time ago.....I was looking to buy women Bras but found it hard to meet the requirements of any major big brand. One day, I was reading the job section.....what did I find? a company was looking for people to work in their Bra Factory, they didn't mention brands or anything....I contacted them, come to find out they were making Bra's for one of the biggest players on the market.....made a deal with them directly for the merchandise.
Sometimes you have to think outside the box. |

You've gotten a lot of good advice, now use it. |
Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? What about eBay and sellers who sell by lots.
What about typing the word "wholesale" on:
- eBay
- Facebook Marketplace
and starting analyzing the results. |

| Naxintrading | 06-21-2018 03:16 AM | Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? aliexpress, DHgate--order stock or standard products directly on the sites.
alibaba.com, Globalsource, made-in-china, HKTDC, find suppliers, mostly for OEM orders(but many factories keep stock too).
There are too many suppliers you need to spend time to research, compare and make decisions, if you are new to this. get samples before placing bigger orders.
It is easy to get stock/standard/regular products from suppliers, if you accept their regular quality (you can check samples). But you need to be careful and keep an eye on the details if you want customized products. Many manufacturers are not flexible, and too careless, and tend to make even very simple, stupid mistakes. You need to state your requirements in details at least in the first time order.
If the quantity you want is small and the value is not high, you probably can buy without samples. Just get sample photos, detail photos and even production photos to check. Sample could be expensive for both hgher product price and higher freight (for bigger volume/weight products by international courier)
Order from sites or via thirdparty payment (alipay, paypal etc) is safe. You should worry more about what quality you could get-if it is the quality you expected or not. Many suppliers may copy the hot sell prodcuts. the products look the same in the picture but the quality could totally different. Especially be careful if you are in search of the best selling style clothing, textiles products etc. |

I think it is a great stepping stone to pile up some cash while learning and finding out what niche you want to specialize in.
Then, like rsot said, go direct to the source with a wad of cash and a plan. |
Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? You'll need to contact the manufacturers direct. If you don't meet their requirements (i.e. the volume they need you to shift), your next best option would be to find a distributor for that manufacturer.
Obviously you wont get it as cheap as getting it direct, but that may be a better alternative.
After that, whoever you buy from will essentially give you retail prices, so there wont be much of a margin should you resell. |

| Arkin | 07-30-2018 02:37 PM | Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? I've only recently started exploring the idea of providing merchandise to Amazon sellers at wholesale prices. I have a subset of about 320+ products that have acceptable to great ranking on Amazon. I acquire them via direct purchase from the manufacturers so no knock-off China replicas or any fishy business that would otherwise degrade the quality of the product. If there's enough interest, I would be glad to provide details. I'll post my own thread soon enough with details, terms, and conditions as soon as I'm all set up with a website I'm building and all that. For now, just PM me if you're interested. |

If you manage to see this video, then you will see what my buyer received from chinabrands.
When it came to a problem, these guys stopped responding to me.
I will have to solve the problem myself.
Refunds, even such, no one accepts.

super weird.. | well established wholesalers and manufactueres are leary selling to cyber business, they dont know much about business, retail or wholesale and they sell for very slim markup and destroy their network of traditional retailers.
You dont see ROLEX,LEICA,Nike,Meissen selling to anyone, everyone ?
if you are serious starting a retail business, attend trade shows, start with your city ,there are usually a wholesale district or merchandise mart,go online and find trade show schedules, there are many trade shows for gifts, antiques, dollar stores, books ,time pieces etc all over the world.
San Fran and LA you will find more overseas manufactuers and wholesalers of SE Asia,NYC you will find more European vendors.
Book show in Atlanta also have vendors selling stationary and accessories.
The largest jewelry show is the one in Tuscon, you need to find housing first,
the largest antique show in the world is held twice a year near London,UK.
The largest dollar store trade show is held in Las Vegas.
Frankfurt Germany ,Birmingham,UK,Tokyo,Japan,Hong Kong, China,Zurich,Paris,Dubai.
Plan your vacation to attend some, start with local or nearby ones.
BTW,many retailers will also do wholesale, usually 20% off,of course you can do better if you order direct from the manufacturer.
You should also apply for a retail certificate from your city, some vendors do not do business unless you are a true retailer
Give me a break,China is not the only country making things you can sell online or offline, look around,go to tradeshows.
Start with your local wholesale district, merchandise mart, google trade show schedules, some could be held in or near where you live.
Retail stores will also sell you at a 20% discount.
Or even let you take pictures and buy when you have sold the item online.
Not every one is internet savvy .
light bulb !
how about AMZN?? |

| Jack Right Boy | 01-13-2020 11:35 AM | Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? You can contact to dropship directly with a seller through Wechat but be carefull of not getting scammed. Mostly sellers are native chinese or at least now basic of russian and english languages. But you will not have extremely cheap prices. |
Re: Where to find suppliers besides Alibaba and Dhgate? 1688 is the chinese version of alibaba, usually prices are lower, because real factory are selling on it. in Alibaba the majority are trading companies instead and have higher prices. We can say in 1688 you are a step before the trading company, but many seller didn't ship overseas, and other not little thing is that many didn't speak english, so the comunication is very difficult. If you plan to buy alone you have to organize with a warehouse in china and then ship goods all togheter. i think it's better to search a good agent shopping for you in 1688 |
