Do all of you guys do dropshipping and private label
 

Hello everyone

I actually always wondered do all of you profit from dropshipping (which I personally believe is impossible to do profitably these days) or private labelling that is advertised everywhere?

Is there anything else you could do to earn on Amazon/eBay?

I will also add that I am sceptical that there is much room left for profiting from using special software on Amazon to find best things to sell and supply it from Alibaba. Just seems like everyone is doing it so the margins are really thin.

What would you say? I am not asking here for all your secrets but just wonder what else is there that I don't know about.

I probably should rephrase what I meant on private labelling:

All I've read it always says something along the lines of always looking for a product on Alibaba, source it, sell it, rinse and repeat everytime. So it is always running after this little chinese toys and all other things which I find very unstable. Maybe it works for all of you, let me know. I always thought I wouldnt be able to sell anything. Because everyone is doing that.


Also what really worries me about starting private labeling isn’t that much people doing but the time it takes to arrive from China. I can’t imagine waiting couple of weeks every time I need to supply something.

Same thing about dropshipping. I can’t imagine my client waiting weeks to receive something :)

Well drop shipping is still viable, just per item profit is a lot lower, I used to sell a $7 item for $19.99, now in order to get ANY sells I sell it for $12.99, still a decent profit for basically doing nothing, but not like it was 4-5 years ago.

do you actually use thay software that analyses products for you on Amazon or other websites?

We’ve been private labeling and drop shipping for a few years on amazon. We’ve seen margins on both industries decrease but they’re still profitable.

The problem with amazon drop shipping is that now amazon looks at other prices on google. If your price on Amazon isn’t the cheapest online (or one of the cheapest) then amazon doesn’t award you the buy box and buyers go elsewhere.

Also, you’re right about private labeling. All sellers have access to the same product research information but not all of them are able to get reviews. Just differentiate yourself with more reviews and you’ll win.
