Power Seller is selling without profit or in loss, what is the trick?
 

I recently bought off eBay UK a mouse pad 60x30cm and I have paid £2.95. After receiving i have noticed that it was sent tracked 48 which normally cost £2.70
The seller has lots of sales, so I would think that he has a Royal Mail business account, even with that, don't think that delivery would cost less than 2£, also eBay fees would be around 0.30£. He was also VAT registered. I don't know how much would cost the item itself but he's far from making any profit. He is already power seller so no point to sell for the badge.

What is the trick?

wrong logic , many sellers buy in bulk and sell in bulk , they calculate the total received from everything

he could have bought remnants,remainders, at less than wholesale price,also power sellers would get a rebate in FVF fees.
He wont be doing it if he is losing money.

Bulk sellers sell at very little to no profit to also improve their overall search rankings on ebay

like James stated, profit could be little and effort just to increase ebay presence for bigger sales
