Customs delayed/backed up?
 

For the last three months no orders via ems have hit customs..last 4...two have.1 ny other san fran.. Ny has been 4 days now.other just one. When do you start to worry? I forget how long it usually sits at inbound status since all mine have been avoiding it. Im prepping for our selling season so please advisE....

Online reporting of delays is always antiquated so be patient.

Well, the san Fransisco package made it out after 2 days. The one in new york.. probably about 30 pounds still sits, ive had like 3 of them pass through there before same size with no problem typically without even showing up on tracking as inbound customs. this is first time in a year that it's been this way.

So that one has been there since august 28th.. I had another order of different product, much lighter but the boxes were sorta dvd style boxes, and that hit customs last night.... So now that one is in new york customs too.

My wholesaler has been frustrating me, he has a larger order he's supposed to be sending via dhl... But everytime i have asked for tracking in the last day.. he tells me he's waiting on the freight company, is it different over there? I mean... Here, if i ship something i just go get the form w.tracking #. He's been dragging his feet. the first order he tells me customs sent back to him, that was dhl bound. So i dunno. It's so frustrating, i am glad i started christmas ordering early... I didn't think it'd ever be like this.So annoying, debating on switching wholesalers. I mean, he gives me great prices for much smaller bulk, that's similiar if i bought bigger bulk, But it's just getting excessive with the shipping delays



After much customs research, i've come to the conclusion that #1 it can be as long as a month in there... #2 if it says "no further information" it means it's been seized. Everytime i've read that someones trackign says " no further information available" they inevitably got a letter or said their stuff was seized.

I could be wrong. I used to have the JFK express mail center's # i had a package there lost without a waybill and they found it for me and sent it to me. I am not sure if calling them would help move along anything.

I think you can forget the one that has been in ciustoms since 08-28. Six days is a LONG time for a box to sit in customs. It COULD still be released, but I have rarely seen this. NY is usually pretty good. Maybe your package was just selected at random.

It does seem to be getting more and more difficult to get stuff through.

I think after this bs, i am just gonna demand sellers ship DHL, i guess i just gotta order it all at once, so they know they need to ship DHL

The weight cutoff for DHL from China is 21kg or about 46 pounds.....

you can go with the weight less than 21kgs by DHL,but the price is a bit expensive.

Well... the 2nd package hit NY customs last night, and passed through at 3am this morning. Sigh, that means other is having some sorta issue.... figures. I have another that should be hitting there in 3-4 days that's small.So that should make it fine. The DHL tracking package i hope arrives safely through cinci customs., we'll see


I guess in the end it's all working out.


Next question, if for some reason that first package ends up being seized. I still am receiving mail... so obviously not blacklisted yet. Do i need to change receiving address? Assuming i receive a letter? I think i would be safer, having it sent another address, in another city.Problem is, i would need to drive to this address to get packages adding on another $10-15 of overhead for gas. ugh. Or i could open a pobox, i guess..It all ends up probably costing the same

Its sol... Its been detained customs tells me. If it has nrand when they check it out.both the guy at jfk and customs said if its in customs for more than 5 days its sol. I noticed on ems website it has customs on 28th and 30th. Which isn't on usps website. The 2nd is customs putting it in their ur sol pile......... Dhl stol in clearance delay. Getting a new reception address monday. They basically told me all china packages are trademark violations....
