Default Wanna carry a new product to sell? But no re sell permit yet?

Hello, I recently contacted a seller for carrying a new product from china. The Chinese seller told me I need to order at least 48 sets per style in order to do business with me. I don't think I have the problem to order 48 sets or up at beginning, however, I am concerned that i currently I don't have any business license or re sell permit, if I order 100 sets (each set is pretty light weight, I can even ship it with a priority mail envelope) will my shipping get caught by custom? Which delivery company is moor Safer?

Just let you know that I am fitting the new Internet tax report program. I will need to report the earning next year for the 2010 sells, because I will surely hit both the 200 transactions and the 20k this year. Yes, need report tax even though I don't have business license and re sell permit.

Any helps will be much appreciated, thanks and have a great weekend!

I'm not sure where you are but in my state I don't need any type of business license or resellers permit. In fact I've never heard of that. Maybe a crazy California thing

The Chinese seller told you that you need a re-sell permit? I don't follow - what are you selling?

You dont need seller permit to buy any items from China. They basically just dont have this law..I think what Poorgirl means here is if items will pass the custom of America or not. And I think its not problem at all, if they do required seller permit check for every package, then custom will be busy all the years..lol.

the packages will pass if it is legal for them too. resellers permit or not. either you are selling foo foo or you don't have a letter of consent from the distributor. either way I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you are selling guns of course. Resellers licenses are really just for buying direct from the distributor. THey will require a license most of the time before even seeing their prices

From the sounds of things you are not business savvy to begin with and probably should NOT be doing all your online learning with stuff from CHINA. Just my opinion but I have seen this a thousand times. quick money thoughts end up with suspended accounts and broke in the end.

Maybe try something easier to deal with until you understand how this whole mess works. if not you might end up with tons of stock you cannot get rid of.

yeh if your starting out buying from china, defiantley dont buy in bulk from any seller you havent previously worked with. Try some other items you can source in smaller quanities till you get used to the whole process.
