Aliexpress cracking down?

Have a regular supplier who sold everything under the sun, had great feedback, they just suddenly have disappeared along with many other suppliers

I notice that to, I think they just changed there names. I do notice when one person logs on the other 3 people also get on-line at the same time. though that was odd

boszika 06-28-2011 06:44 PM

Ah they do that all the time. They are closing stores everyday. And promptly they reopen them. For future reference have their email.

There has been a crackdown for the past 4 months across all similar websites like that

Oh OK this is making sense, suddenly on several sites I use weird things have been happening, whole websites down or items disappearing this last week... Im trying to talk to sellers now, but it seems tough.

Personally I think you are going to see a lot more of this. Never understimate the power of the rights owners when they get together.

You also need to factor in that the Chinese government no longer want to be known as the counterfeit capital of the world - they are now looking to flex their financial muscle and be taken seriously therefore sites like Alibaba, Aliexpress and DHGate will be told in no uncertain terms what they will need to do to stay in business.

I expect the counterfeit market will move to other countries and you can already see sellers from the Asian area stepping up to fill the gap.

Just part of the ongoing problem for anyone playing in that market I guess

dburnside 06-30-2011 04:22 PM

i like aliexpress as it overs you protection with payment not handed over until parcel recieved, what other payments do people use from china? hate paypal for china items though

GrannyT 06-30-2011 04:36 PM

What is a QQ number????

Gamefreak 07-01-2011 01:53 AM

Aliexpress is cracking down. Introducing its own fulfillment center.

Its either paypal or escrow for items from china.

Paypal should really be avoided unless you have some trust in the supplier and your payment is not covered under any protection

QQ is to China as Yahoo and MSN to the rest of the world.
It is a messenger that virtually everybody in China has.
Advantages:
1. It is fast and lightweight, doesnt slow down your computer.
2. You can send pictures and videos of products back and forth.
3. When you mention your supplier you have QQ, they hit a more friendlier tone with you.
4. Like Skype it has audio, video calls.
5. It works great on Iphone and Droid.
6. It has a built in translation tool.

Disadvantages: None.
