What's your strategy?
 
No, I'm not another person asking what are some good products to sell..first post though.

I'm wondering, what kind of process do you use to decide what products you want to sell, or what products aren't worth it?

For example, I sell products that have little competition due to product knowledge required to sell them, and they have great margin. When I search out products I look for other products like this because I'm not sure I could stand trying to compete against a million other people selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ipod headphones.

How about you guys, what's important for you when looking around on dhgate or alibaba?

no one is going to tell you, so just learn and experience yourself. made a couple thousand when i first started and after i figured everything out it increased to 40-80k a month, and holidays are off the charts.

I try to pick products that you don't normally find for sale offline, then with these products I then see what kind of competition there is within Google as this is where I can nearly all of my traffic.

Sometimes you can still make money charging more than others, just make it seem more official.

interesting strategy crow.

the other day on another unrelated forum i got to watching a thread where someone announced a coupon/gift certificate for 500$ worth of sunglasses on a brand's website.

funny how the sunglasses were of the same type you can buy for 10-20$ just about anywhere but the association of getting a huge bargain (500$ coupon) made people actually spend 5-10$ more than they normally would for the same product.. nice little program
