So I just wired money to a potential supplier in vietnam. I sent the wire on Friday. When will the wire go through to the supplier and will I be notified when he receives it or No. Please explain me the process!

Well what service did you use?

My bank account with BB&T, just called them up and they did it....

Last time I did that i got scammed £700... Took all info to the police and was told as i wired it i gave permission and there was nothing that could e done...
But i hope yours goes better than mine did :(

You wired money and now you are asking how it works? Oh boy.....

1. You know the seller well?
2. You know what you are getting?
3. You had better speak to your seller - hope he is a good one.

Wire transfers are completed pretty quick. I use escrow.com and it's done within an hour most of the time.

I hope this is someone you know and have done business with in the past. I find if a supplier has nothing to lose.. your repeat business, feedback, etc. They will take advantage of you.

I had one guy try and take advantage of me when I paid him via Western Union one day (he usually delivered first then I paid him, this time it was the other way around). He came up with some story about needing it to pay workers or something like that. I believed him because we did a lot of business in the past. Anyhow I send the payment and he disappears for about a week. Of course though as I was one of his biggest customers he came back begging forgiveness about disappearing like that. I got a nice discount and some free merchandise after that. Moral of story.. don't trust lightly and cover your ass.

Ok thanks aspkin for that. Say this supplier does scam me is the wire completely gone wants i send the money. Or could i file a complaint with my bank?

Any kind of "transfer" pretty much relinquishes all protection you might have elsewhere. Why do you think warnings about this stuff is found in all banks and thousands upon thousands of stores nationwide? If you lose, it's your own fault for not researching better.

How ANYONE can send Money to a TOTAL STRANGER completely Usecured (And, YES a Wire transfer is COMPLETELY Unsecures),,is beyond me,,,,


The Question I have is why did'nt you start a Thread that read something like this:

"Whats the Safest way to send money Overseas?"

I BET that you would have saved your self a TON of Heartache

Now to to awnser your Question,,,You should Prepare yourself for the VERY REAL possibility that you have been Scammed,,and there is NOTHING that you can do about it,,,excepy maybe to Learn something

My bank account is always ready to accept wired funds.. :D

But seriously, when you wire it tells you right there that money should be there in X days depending on the bank/service you opted for, IE same day, 2 day, 3-5 days etc.

try using something more secure such as escrow or paying with credit card, wiring money has no security for you

The seller actually sent me my goods. I was a little scared at first because the package came a couple days late.

Some drop shippers only use wire payments.
